My GOD I'm embarrassed for the freeptards
Conservatives are scrambling to spin the Foley thing so much it's embarrassing. We're talking about people who claim to be rational thinkers, defending a sexual predator. FOX news has been HILARIOUS all day long.

They've accused us of not looking out for the children, of being Godless sodomite deviants who are all going to hell. They've called us baby killers, they've said we don't support the troops, that we love evil people like Saddam and Kim Jong Il, etc etc etc...

And now, what do I see? I see republican and conservative gasbags trying to justify the actions of a sexual predator, and a coverup and enabling of said sexual predator. It's unbelievable.

If it was a Democrat that did this, I highly doubt any of us would be trying to excuse or justify or spin his actions. These people have no decency and they have no shame. These people are scum. They care only about winning elections and hanging on to their gross entitlements. They have no moral superiority over anybody. (Far less, in fact).

This is surreal. You would think that everyone would be on the same page on this one. These bushbot dingbats truly are mentally deranged in the highest degree. I've never seen anything like this in my life. It's like they're all brainwashed members of a cult. I just don't know what else to say.

8. I saw Ann Coulter on Faux
a couple of nights ago, spouting her usual hateful crap, blaming Democrats, as she always does. She wouldn't even talk about what Foley has done; she kept jumping back 10 or 15 or 20 years to stories about Barney Franks and that other guy (who's name escapes me). She would NOT stay on topic, at all--probably because that would mean having an honest discussion about a horrible situation that is in the news NOW, a crime perpetrated by one of her beloved repukes.

God, the hypocrisy makes me sick. :puke:

React to cognitive dissonance with denial.

Think, These rethugs have played up being the most PURE upstanding, morally astute, holy, christian beyond christ himself, and they are child molesters.

It FITS the pattern.

It is the people who wear their social identities and normalcy and upstanding characters to get power, who are most likely to be using this fake image as a mask to cover up what they really ARE.

For Instance..
Why did PRIESTS molest little boys in the catholic church and the church pretend it was not real? Other than the money and control being a church grants people in that organization?? IT was Because a priest is a TRUSTED AUTHORITY figure in society, people BELIEVE priests have high morals and they trust them as moral authority figures the parishioners are TAUGHT to trust priests from their PARENTS whom as kids they MUST trust..to SURVIVE..
And priests got access to other peoples kids.

Why would a molester want to be a preist,a senator,Scout master or school principle or good neighbor who loves kids? Because that good guy badge the authority, and role is the perfect MASK of shorthanded trust that permits them a kind of socially accepted COVER and an authority badge that PARENTS are conditioned by society to recognize submit to,and trust is safe, and these roles give perverts access to other peoples kids..

THe people who think priests are in a church and that a church equals moral authority , it is safe by default will react in DENIAL,when a trusted moral authority figure is a pervert.

They will hush up victims to preserve the cherished illusion that the power structure that makes the world make sense for themselves is not corrupted or evil or toxic.

IN other words they tell themselves a lie because the truth HURTS.
Just like Michal Jackson Fans wanted to believe thier fave pop star will all his talent was NOT a molestor. Yet he IS . Cognitive dissonance effects everyyone,Wives deny husbands are pedophiles, too the denial runs deep because a pedophile betrays trust deeply.

People confrointed by this awful truth, will rather betray the victim (a traumatized scared, voiceless, dependant child)who was hurt and cannot retaliate,or be heard, rather than DARE tothink the powerful people and institutions that validated their beliefs for them that feel so good right and safe, these followers believed and thought were good people, righteous, and cared ...are in fact evil monsters raping their sons..

It's easier to tell yourself a lie ,than to go fighting a church with deep pockets and huge teams of lawyers and PR people, and billions of 'normal'people lying to themselves just the same way as you are. Better to GO ALONG with the FLOW like a MitLaufer..Creating a make believe to hide in because the truth is just too damn scary that power corrupts authority,so deeply and so high up..and your trust as a parent of an authority figure,it hurt YOUR child forever. The Guilt and Shame is crushing.

So in reaction against their own feelings of SHAME,and guilt for trusting and believing such a liar and monster, they COVER for the perpetrators trying to quell the shattering of the cognitive dissonance of two incompatible separate realities in thier own psyches, crashing together..this kind of betrayal creates this kind of denial in a psyche..in people and the denial can go on for years.Than the mind gets sick symptoms bad dreams panic, then the truth erupts in a full blown crisis.. So when the scandal is big it creates more wounds more triggers bigger denial. In entire cultures this sort of social cognitive dissonance effects the social psyches of manuy individuals and there are strong reactions and strong reactions to reactions politically that can get innocent people killed.

14. They won't
Because it's PERSONAL
When you look at the statistics of how many kids get molested and abused by perverts..Perverts who get light sentences, who go free to molest again.. Look it is a TRIGGER,and it is a kind of retraumatization process like the Satanic Panic of the 1980's. This is the REACTION,to the LIE,where once freaks were scary now we are learning the truth normal people can be sick, and it fits with the psychopath profile. So it is too close to home.Too true to be ignored. There are alot of people in this country adult and child alike who are carrying secrets molesters put into them ,who want justice, that want the perpetrators to fess up and carry the shame and pain they have carried for YEARS and swallowed. They will not let this go,it is too personal. It's archetypal truth. Those vested with authority DO abuse power absolutely.Leaders are not to be trusted without accountability and transparency and many eyes of supervision..

This is much deeper issue wise and much bigger of a problem and more personal and it's potentially more dangerous to this nations psyche than BUsh co thinks .Poking these triggers in countless individuals with the torture shit, the cameras everywhere, the pedophile scandals, this'revealing'.This could very well blow up in their pompous pervert faces and finally get the hurt people who have broken out of denial and who have stopped blaming themselves for the abuses they endured to stand up,and accuse the perps, stop them and to do what it takes to clean out the psychopaths from places of power... be it a pervert abuser tyrant at home ,a molester principal in a school, pervert pastor in a church or a lot of criminal perverts in the white house..

There is a growing awareness of these sick dynamics and psychopathy. Bushco cannot rely on the old standdard psychological reactions out of victimized people forever, denial, repression and cognitive dissonance and threats to shield his kind from accountability to those they have harmed forever.

People are waking up to recognize the sorts of personalities WHOM are the sources of trauma are.

16. That's not what they do. They rationalize.
When they're dead wrong, they don't just admit it. Their fragile egos are incapable. They have to somehow make this crap fit into their skewed view of the world, one way or another.

They're sick fucks, is what they are.

18. So if someone came to you and said your kid just killed...
...another kid. You'd just nod and advertise his room to let?

Of course not.

You'd rant. You'd rave. You'd look for a way out for your child. You'd lean on every influential friend you had. You'd bribe. You'd lie. You'd go after witnesess. And above all you'd deny.

In short you'd act just like a Freeptard who'd been on a two week Kool-Aid bender.

If you have a lot of emotional baggage/effort invested in something, the last thing you want to do is admit, especially to yourself, that the thing you love (sometimes above life itself) is rotten to the core.

22. This is a political party- not a child.
Comparing the fanaticism of the Republican Party to the loyalty of parents to their children is a totally invalid, and unnecessary, analogy. Their behavior speaks for itself.

23. You know that. I know that.
And it's not a political party to them, so much as the embodiment of their country and their beliefs.

I was not talking about the party leadership, who were most definitely attempting damage control.

The people, I and presumably the poster you replied to before I jumped in, are talking about are the rank and file. Be they comnstituents or parrishoners.

Look at parent's (particluarly mothers) of some criminals. The worse the behaviour of their child, the more hate they'll have and show towards anyone/thing who dares to criticise their "baby"(church/country).

Look at how the behaviour of Freeptards has deteriorated pretty much in synchrony with the Administration becoming more openly "evil".

I'm not saying this behaviour is right. It's not. But it is human.

17. It has always been apparent to me
that Supremacists (Racial or whatever) are usually the least of the group who claims superiority. (i.e White Supremacists, Hitlers Nazis, et. al)

I would imagine that there many in the Republican party-(Perhaps Their silent majority) who shudder over the wacko NeoCons who have hijacked their Party.

However, by allowing it to continue, they are deservedly painted with the same brush as those in charge. As a cop once told me many years ago; Ignorance is NO Excuse.

26. Yeah, it is embarrassing.
This is as low as I've ever seen them sink. It's pretty obvious at this point that what they really want, deep down, is the "win" for their group. Therefore all things must fall before that goal, including the values they profess to hold on the surface - sexual morality being a big one that they gloat about all the time. I am now convinced that as long as any person has a (R) after their name, whatever behavior that person commits is completely and totally fine from the moment he/she gets caught, and "values" be damned in the eyes of the Freeptards.

I can't respect that at all. I thought they were morons before. Now I know that they are also slimy enablers who can't even stick to their own value system when the shit hits the fan, the same value system they throw in everyone else's face and act smug about incessantly. Any right-winger who justifies this man's actions in any way has instantly forfeited their credibility and their right to "holier-than-thou" it over anybody.

And BTW, if there are any lurking freepers here, let me give you another hint: just because some Democrat 35 years ago did something bad, this doesn't excuse any actions from your boy. Two wrongs doesn't equal one right, it equals two wrongs. It's embarrassing how you keep bringing up Clinton and his BJ, and Teddy Kennedy and whoever else to try to justify Foley's pedophilia. They did something wrong, and so did Foley. If you want to go after them all, fine. But their actions don't make Foley's actions ok. Period. Saying "remember Teddy Kennedy" isn't an adequate defense of Foley. It's not a defense at all, just a slimy attempt to shift attention. And frankly, if Monica Lewinsky had been 16 years old when Clinton was messing around with her, I would have 100% supported his impeachment, as would many Dems I know. Unlike all of you, I don't throw what I know to be right and wrong out the window when I see that (D) after someone's name. I guess that puts me ahead on the "moral values" scale, huh?
