Drudge: These Kids Are 16 & 17 Yr Old Beasts - Egging Foley On!
Edited on Mon Oct-02-06 04:41 PM by kpete
Drudge:

And if anything, these kids are less innocent — these 16 and 17 year-old beasts…and I've seen what they're doing on YouTube and I've seen what they're doing all over the internet — oh yeah — you just have to tune into any part of their pop culture. You're not going to tell me these are innocent babies. Have you read the transcripts that ABC posted going into the weekend of these instant messages, back and forth? The kids are egging the Congressman on! The kids are trying to get this out of him. We haven't got the whole story on this.

"Haha, let's see if we can get the old fool to start talking dirty." Makes no difference whether they were egging him on or not. He's the adult.

29. No, he's not.

It's obvious from reading the IMs. He's a kid talking to an adult is a position of great power. There is NOTHING provocative that he said- Foley was peppering him with disgusting questions. The kid reported him and saved the IMs, after all.

Sick fuck- he's no better than the shitbags on Dateline's "To Catch a Predator".

6. Do not visit that Jerk's Site. Please!
Drudge is KKKarl Rove's operative. Remember that it was the stain on the blue dress that was this creep's claim to fame. Please get the news elsewhere and thanks to the OP for not providing the link to his scummy site.

Edited on Mon Oct-02-06 04:44 PM by Gregorian
By that standard, anything goes!

The drug dealer made me do it.

You know, the bottom line is, Republicans are the first to blame, and the last to take responsibility.

8. Yeah, we all know how gullible 52-year-olds are
I mean, if Henry Hyde can successfully argue that the child he fathered out of wedlock when he was 41 was a "youthful indiscretion," how in the world can a 52-year-old man be held accountable for his actions when confronted with the overwhelming skullduggery that your average 16-year-old can muster? Maybe we need to flip-flop the statutory rape laws, and hold the youngsters responsible for molesting the old stuff?

Thank God for Matt (I broke a story that was spoon-fed to me once!) Drudge, fearless defender of callow 52-year-olds.

11. And this is relevant because?
I do not find it inconceivable that a 16-year-old would sexually lead on an older man; I don't know whether they did or not in this case, but I'm not able to rule it out. That does not in any way excuse the adult responding. As Republicans are so fond of reminding us, we are responsible for our own behaviour.

Of course, I was kidding, while Drudge was, as always, pursuing the acme of journalistic integrity.

21. Interesting. Drudge, Coulter, Goldberg, Isikoff - most active
in setting up President Clinton. Will they be the same four to defend Mark and create sympathy for him?

Will the code words be the blue jock strap?

He spends all his time screwing around on the Internet, spreading lies about people. Maybe someone should rape him. He's not so innocent.

Yes, the moral values crowd sure does love Drudge.

27. This is why the majority of sex crimes go unreported in this country
Can we blame kids for not coming forward? This is just appalling. Shame on Drudge. His argument is nothing new.

Victims of sexual harassment or abuse typically encounter this type of reaction when they come forward with their stories.

Many victims simply aren't believed, so nothing is done. Even when they are believed, the crime is often covered up, so, again, nothing is done. Often, the victim is accused of inciting or encouraging the unwelcome behavior. The victim's personal life is scrutinized and any past sexual history is used against her or him. The victim is told s/he "asked" for it. There is in law enforcement a perception that without blood and bruises, there is no real evidence of crime.

I imagine these boys are learning what rape victims have known for a long time. Once, the case enters the legal system, the victim will be victimized again and again. A traumatic experience for the strongest of individuals.

I hope they all come from strong families who can help them get through this.
