I have come to the conclusion that only ONE Dem needs to be...
.. pilloried in re: The Toture Bill (remember that??)

That one.... Nelson (D-NE)

thanks to the list given here http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=364&topic_id=2279514&mesg_id=2279611 of those that voted AGAINST the Specter Amendment...

ALL THE OTHER DEMS STOOD TOGETHER ON THIS AMENDMENT, EVEN A FEW R's.

This was our only chance to stop this atrocity to force it to committee.

Nelson turned away from the rest of the DEM's to throw in with the filth.

After that failed, it's obvious that those in tight races had to take the weapon away from KKKarl in these last weeks.

At the bottom line, there was only one TRATIOR in the DEM ranks. Nelson (D-NE)

There's your target.

2. .
If I remember correctly, he voted against all the other Amendments as well while all the other Dems voted for them. After that it was pretty shocking to see 11 Dems + Lieberman voting for the bill.

5. How many did it take to be against a filibuster?
They could have blocked cloture with 41 votes.

If it's not worth it to filibuster a bill that rationalizes torture, eliminates habeas corpus, elimnates judicial review, and authorizes a "unitary Executive" to RE-intepret the Geneva Conventions after 50 years, then just what's actually worth filibustering?

6. What a smart move!
Just when the Dems may finally get a chance to have some real input, focus your attention on knocking out a Dem senator. That will show Frist! and Bush! and Gonzalez! That will mean that all the Dems that did vote against torture will have no voice whatsoever. Good thinking. If you are a Republican.

8. GHODDAMMIT!!!!!
I'm not the one that put up a web page with a ghoddamm 'Wall of Shame' on all the dems that voted for the freak bill when there was no hope left... I'm not the one that was screaming "TAKE ALL THE DEMS DOWN! I'M NOT VOTING FOR ANY OF THEM! FUCK THEM ALL!!!"

Jesus Horatio Farquring Kerist! I was trying to say NOT to attack all those DEMS in the fall, WE NEED THOSE SEATS! Go After NELSON for his NEXT re-election bid! But NOT ALL OF THEM!

Fine, screw it... so much for rational discourse...

9. I wonder how those that voted
with the republicans to torture and end habeus corpus will vote when the senate is 50/50 as some predict after these elections? We assume they will vote with the dems at that point. We have no choice but to hope they will vote with the party. But does anyone know? Anyway, targeting is fruitless at this point. Just vote the party and hope. The house should determine where we go with the "I" word.
