Media Matters: Just what are the right-wing screeds saying about Foley
I might warn you, this is either going to make you extremely angry, but it might also make you sick to your stomach that these screeds are practically defending Mark Foley and blaming the democrats for this scandals

Here's a list of all of the stories out there as compiled by Media Matters:
http://mediamatters.org/issues_topics/mark_foley_scandal

Here's some of the highlights:

http://mediamatters.org/items/200610020013
Limbaugh: Democrats "set Foley up ... it's all coordinated"
Limbaugh: There is -- there is -- there's not even any real problem with what Foley did, as we've discussed. In their (democrats) hearts and minds and their crotches, they don't have any problem with what Foley did. They've defended it over the -- over the years.

Matt Drudge:
http://mediamatters.org/items/200610020015
Drudge: "the kid was having fun with this" because the conversation included "hese LOLs throughout the entire conversation, these 'laugh out louds.' "

Bill O'Reilly
http://mediamatters.org/items/200610020002
O'REILLY: OK. Now, there have been rumors about Foley's homosexuality for years. You've heard them, we've all heard them. It wasn't an issue at all until now.

Ann Coulter:
http://mediamatters.org/items/200610010004
COULTER: Well, we don't know the details of that, but I find that somewhat incredible for a number of reasons, including the one you were mentioning before. Why wait until right before the election to let it break?

1. Even if it was a political move it does not excuse the fact that
what he was doing was inappropriate and the GOP leadership covered it up....

And now they are blaming the teen for LOL.....if Foley got himself in this mess and he has no business in Congress...

We do need to focus on Woodwards revelations about the administration...but we need to keep hammering away that "Neocons have no problem with Pedophilia/Exploitation of youth"!!

2. So this college educated veteran can surmise from your post
that limbaugh, coulter, drudge, o'reilly all support foley's attempts to fuck young boys. Obviously the crime to "conservatives" is getting caught.

3. Oh, they KNOW they're screwed.
It doesn't matter that there wasn't physical contact.

It doesn't matter that the kid might have "led Foley on".

It doesn't matter who leaked the info or when or why.

The unavoidable truth is this:

A REPUBLICAN REPRESENTATIVE WILLINGLY MADE REPEATED SEXUAL ADVANCES TO MINORS. THE REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP KNEW ABOUT IT. AND THEY LOOKED THE OTHER WAY.

You can spin that one all you want--it is what it is and there is no excusing it away.

And you know what's amazing? None of the people that I see at work or in my neighborhood have even mentioned the Foley story? They are either clueless Bush supporters or just stupid.
:( :( : (Unfuckingbelievable. :( :( :(

9. On C-Span this morning ...
some female zombie called up and did this "we all need to take a step back and take breathe" and "find out all the facts before we start finding anyone guilty" ... I called it, just like yesterday morning with the "it's bad news for the democrats" followed by some mind numbing rationalization ...

6. So OhReally is blaming the victim and is blaming "thought police"
Well, its been known for years, but we couldn't do anything about it or stop him because we would have been labled as "gay bashers"

Uh, Bill, look at yourself. You are being a gay basher right now. So obviously you don't mind doing it...

10. Coulter: "Why wait until right before the election to let it break?"
Someone should point out to toxic Annie that if we Democrats really had controlled the timing of this we would have released it October 31, not September 29. That would have been "right before the election". With one week to go there would have been time to get the news out there but not enough time for the Repuke spin doctors to put a very good polish on the story and probably not enought time to replace Foley on the ballot.

Edited on Tue Oct-03-06 02:22 PM by keta11
He always pretends to know about everything in the world -economics, sociology, science, religion, DC politics, everything, you can count on O'Liely to insinuate that he knew all along. What a personality!!!!

Did I mention international affairs, counter-terrorism, the military, history, astronomy, philosophy...

What a douchebag!!!!!!!!!!!!11

12. The Repukes would NEVER wait until just before an election!
I really can never decide who the most evil repuke is. There are just too many candidates.
