White House Investigates Rove’s Aid.
Susan Ralston, who worked for Jack Abramoff before taking a position with Rove, is under investigation by the White House for taking gifts from Abramoff in exchange for helping the lobbyist and his associates set up meetings and providing them with inside info about presidential appointments and White House decision making. You know its gotta’ be bad for the Administration to investigate itself. Either that or they don’t want anybody else seeing it but what are the chances of that?
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15081799/site/newsweekWhite House Records Confirm Rice received terror warning before 9/11
The members of the 9/11 commission are a bit peeved that Woodward‘s book STATE OF DENIAL revealed that George Tenant had warned Rice in July of ’01 of a pending terror attack on the US and got the brush off. Everybody involved is denying the brush off but there were no further meetings on the subject. Rice said to reporters that she “didn’t remember” such a meeting. One would think the August 6 PDB titled “Bin Laden intent on attacking US” would have jogged her memory. What’s got the 9/11 committee peeved? They knew about the warning from testimony of Rice and Tenant but decided to keep it secret and not put it in the 9/11 Report. Makes me wonder what else was not in the report.
Wouldn’t want to upset the sheeple now would we?

A GAO report says that the Government’s $1.4 billion ad campaign aimed at young people does not work and may actually induce them to try drugs. This on top of the White House Office of Management and Budget’s 2003 report calling it "non-performing" and saying it had not demonstrated results. Bush immediately added $20 million more to the program for 2007.

A navy strike force of 20,000 sailors steamed out of port this week headed for the Persian gulf and a location just off the Iranian Coast. An aircraft carrier, cruiser, mine sweepers, supply and support ships as well as a submarine/destroyer escort were quietly ordered in early September to prepare to take stations and left port October 1.
Wonder what Bush has in mind?
From Bush’s UN speech October 7, 2002, “America is a friend to the people of Iraq. Our demands are directed only at the regime that enslaves them . . . “
From Bush’s UN speech September 19, 2006, “To the people of Iran: The United States respects you; we respect your country. < . . . > The greatest obstacle to
future is that your rulers have chosen to deny you liberty . . . “
About now every civilian in Iran is running around with their hair on fire saying, “Oh $#!T!! Bush is gonna’ give us freedom!! Allah help us!”

Man arrested for speaking to Cheney
Steve Howards was walking his 7-year-old son to a piano practice, when he saw Cheney surrounded by a group of people in an outdoor mall area, shaking ands and posing for pictures with several people. Howards and his son walked to about two-to-three feet from where Cheney was standing, and said to the vice president, "I think your policies in Iraq are reprehensible," or words to that effect, then walked on. Ten minutes later he and his son were walking back through the same area when a Secret Service agent asked Howards if he had “assaulted” the vice president. Howards denied doing so, but was nonetheless placed in handcuffs and taken to the Eagle County Jail.
Arrested in front of his 7 year old son for speaking truth to power. Way to go, Dick. (Some people can wear the name Richard, and some can’t. Cheney just looks like a Dick, don’t ya’ think? http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/local/article/0,1299,DRMN_15_5039230,00.html
