Falling gasoline prices are the LAST trick up the Republicans sleeve.

Last summer, I was correct when I predicted that gas prices would mysteriously start dropping in mid-September and drop until they hit $2.50/gallon by early November, in a last ditch effort to buy the votes of the naive and the ignorant. Shit, I was right about the drastic drop, but I was wrong about just how low they would go before voting day. Here it is early October and the artificial drop has already exceeded my expectations.

Let's face it, with the way things are going for the repukes concerning the Iraq War, monumental corruption, and everything else under the sun, this Foley scandal/coverup is the final nail in the Republicans coffin. The only trick up their sleeve is energy price fixing. Big Oil is shitting its pants at the thought of a Democrat controlled Congress. $2.50/gallon just aint gonna do it.

I wouldn't be surprised to see gas prices drop in the next few weeks to the lowest they've been seen the Roaring Twenties. LOL!

4. Already down to 2.01 here in North Texas
and I can see it go down another quarter within a month. Oil traded today at around $59 a barrel, about 19 less than it was 2 and a half months ago.

We can talk about seasonal driving habits and lack of hurricanes all we want. But a sane person has to acknowledge that this is a ploy by big oil to influence voters to vote republican next month.

I have a trip at the end of october, I'd love for gas to be such that I could make some money on it.

10. Don't feel badly about your savings at the pump
I'm planning on driving to see my daughter in college at the end of the month, and wouldn't be able to if they hadn't dropped. I'm smiling all the way to see my girl. :)

7. There is a Newsweek article online
that has more conventional explanations for the gas and oil prices other than political conspiracies that is.

Oct. 9, 2006 issue - Understanding the oil market is difficult. Making reasonable forecasts is almost impossible. That's why most analysts were surprised by the dip in prices from the Aug. 8 historic high of $79 per barrel to below $60 in recent days. Suddenly the alarmists who foresaw an imminent era of oil scarcity are silent, OPEC is again discussing supply cuts, oil share prices are down. And new conspiracy theories are flowing, like the one about the Republicans' pushing down gas prices before the U.S. midterm elections.

------------------

Personally I try to look for better explanations than conspiracies that dictate the actions of all the oil and gas speculators, the foreign and domestic oil companies, the gas refineries, etc. First there must an oversupply or drop in consumption or the speculators would not be trading so much lower. So analyze the reason for the oversupply. Maybe the case can be made that the oil companies and refineries created it, but I would get some facts before making a conclusion.

9. Well, I noted that during the high prices, that the bigass cars and trucks
and SUVs tended to stay to the right, doing the speed limit, conserving gas--if they were out on the road at all. As the price falls, I notice more of them over in the left lane gunning it. Stupid feckers....

14. Some oil exec was on TV saying that if everybody in the US
would cap their speed at 60 mph, we'd have a 20% price cut in gas within three months. That's 40 cents just for driving the speed limit.

Crazy.

11. Gas has bottemed out in my neighborhood. It hasn't changed in
a week and a half. it's steady at 2.36.

If they do drop that low, my advice would be to buy a huge storage tank and start hording.

13. Trouble is, by the time that huge storage tank is delivered to your yard,
sometime in late November, gas prices will have risen in two weeks time to $4.75/gallon!
