Are Gay Teens Being Recruited into the Congressional Page Program?
Think Gannon/Guckert, think rumors of past pedophile rings on Capitol Hill...I want to know:

Is it possible gay teens are being recruited into the Congressional Page program?

1. I didn't know Gannon was a pedophile
Are you implying that gay teens are being targeted for the page program? If you are, I don't buy it.

3. Sure, but so are straight teens. We're EVERYWHERE! So we're
part of the best and brightest (or whatever pages are supposed to be). But I don't think they're teeing us up specifically to be preyed upon by creepy old congresspersons. But you have to figure that's going to happen whatever sex or sex orientation you are. I mean, come on, it's a boy's club up there on the hill. Not defending it, just saying That's What Those Creeps Do, and you ought to be on yer guard if you're around them.

4. But ONLY Members of Congress "may forward an application"
This is included in the list of requiremtnts for becoming a "Republican Page" on Congressman Joe Barton's (R-TX) website:

"--A letter of support from the sponsoring Republican Member of Congress.
The Speaker's Office will not accept applications from students directly - only Members of Congress may forward an application."

I'd be curious to know WHO Foley may have nominated or not nominated based on their sex, etc.

6. My guess is that every one of Foley's nominees
Were boys, handsome, had a nice "shape"... everything he's sexually interested in. For him it would have been like a beauty contest... can't help but wonder if there was a swimsuit competition he required to narrow down the list of hopefuls.

5. Maybe it's self-selection
 Maybe gays are more politically aware/involved/interested?

Given what I know about the process (very little, but I do have an acquaintance who sent his daughter to be a page) I doubt that there are many opportunities to evaluate the applicants orientation prior to sending them to DC.
