Denny Hastert - he STILL does't get it.
It struck me today, well tonight. The media has decided to do their job and starting thinking past the surface layer. In the case of FoleyGate, that means that those in the know, the enablers, the GOP leadership, must account for their decisions and actions.

There are several reasons for Hastert's surprise. For one thing, not once before has any GOPer (except for Trent Lott-but he was never trusted by the WH. His independence reminded them of McCain's so they OK'd Frist's takeover) been called to account for one's actions. Hastert and his cronies felt totally protected. Every good idea by the dems? BURY IT. Bad news? IGNORE IT. GOP lies coming to the surface? ATTACK THEIR PATRIOTISM. Hastert's ability to take orders from the neocons was wonderful. His ability to attack the enemy (no, not alqaida, the taliban, bin Ladin, or Saddam) was helped in no small part by Tom DeLay. Their enemy, of course, was the opposing party + anyone not taking their orders.

So being called to account for his prior fuck-ups is a massive surprise for him. He cannot wrap his wrestling brain around that concept, not just yet.

Next, He hath Breathed the Waters and Drank the Airs of The Blessed Beltway. He is in line to be president. Don't EVER consider that that particular thought has never crossed his pea-brained mind. He has been one of the most powerful people in America. He wants something? Everyone else jumps in response. That happens day in and day out, every waking hour. Of course that will impact how you perceive reality. He truly thinks that he is above reproach, that his power is permanent and, in no small part because of his home district, that he is invincible.

Lastly, no matter how well he has manuveured and controlled this sycophantic group of traitorous, unpatriotic, war-mongering, congresscritters into supporting every single decision that has spewed forth from the White House, or more accurately, from Darth Cheney. As talented as he was, he was little more than a White Hore Stenographer. a Wrestling wanna-bee-lover of Cheney, Dick and licker of Bush, George.

He really does NOT GET IT. He does not understand how he protected, hid and controlled that bad news for so many years, only to have this small piece of shit issue about e-mails come and bite him in his enormous ass. Worse, he may never understand.

1. I hope Dennis the worst, but...
I'd love to see him have to take the kind of sorry shit, that the pubs have dished out to the dems in the house for the past 12 years. I'd love to see the democrats slap him around on TV every day.
