the drunk excuse does not wash
He supposedly IM'ed pages between votes and while Congress was in session. There is no way he was drunk on the house floor or when making speeches. This is just a nonsensical argument.

1. The Drunk excuse doesn't wash. But, drunk politicians aren't rare.
Nor is showing up on the floor drunk and giving speeches.

But, "the vodka made me do it" excuse doesn't work when you run over somebody or sexually exploit minors.

Drinking doesn't make you a pedophile...It just lets your inhibitions down, so if you are thinking of doing something anyway, you are more likely to do it.

I have been ripped plenty of times. Never once have I grabbed a middle schooler on the way home. Not once. Now, maybe I am doing it wrong, but given the risks made apparent by Mr. Foley, I don't wanna do it right !
