I've seen several pundits and pols, some Democrats suggest that we need to tread lightly and be careful whatever the fuck that means.

How so? How and why should we be careful with this piece of political red meat?

3. Because if Democrats aren't careful
Republicans could lose both houses of Congress.

5. Because the Dems are usually so feisty and impetuous?
Sounds like they want to encourage Dems not to stand up for their beliefs. I personally think we've had enough of that tactic already!

6. Use Foley to derail the War on Terrorism battle wagon, ...
and move on. Sleaze is everywhere -- don't try to make it seem that only the GOP is dirty.

Get the focus back on Iraq.

"Be careful, or you might give American the impression you're not rolling over for the GOP".

17. I'm starting to wonder if DLC wants GOP to keep control
of Congress. Normally, I wouldn't entertain such a radical notion, but their constant harping on Dems and statements supporting the GOP are makinging me wonder.

Does the DLC want the GOP to keep control of Congress?

14. Simple. They want people to think that it's bipartisan
What else? They're trying to plant in the minds of the general public that this isn't a Repuke issue, it's a House issue... Dems included (i.e., Dems JUST AS BAD). And it works... Repukes have been speculating now whether it's bi-partisan. Once they've convinced themselves of a likelihood that it's bipartisan, they can keep voting Repuke and feel good about it... why change their vote when they think Dems are JUST AS BAD?

The fact that no Repukes have outed any pervy Dems (and they would in a New York minute) or that Dems are involved in the cover-up (they would have LEAPT on the chance to out Foley if they could have) plus the fact that the one Dem who should have been informed was deliberately left out of the Repuke loop about this tells me they're barking up the wrong tree. If any Dems are pervy... Repukes would have made a loud stink about it the very moment they even suspected. If any Dems are involved in the cover-up... Repukes would have been jumping up and down pointing fingers at them the very moment the scandal became public.

Honestly, it would not surprise me that their were pervy Dems just as guilty since that kind of pervy activity is universal. But under the circumstances, I really really doubt it.

18. One thing Rethugs are good at is
playing dirty. They believe in all out war on their enemies. Anything goes. Abuse, dirty tricks, cheating, lying, smearing and torture are all just fine with Rethugs.

20. Its almost like they know about some liability we have....

...their threats about being careful almost have the connotation of "we could but won't or don't have enough evidence to out some democrats with sex scandals".

Either way, we have to press the foley scandal and the implied ethical issues with his superiors.
