Head of Texas state agency deployed to Iraq
I don't want to go into tons of detail, but I found out something shocking today.

I was updating a list of directors of state agencies at work, and I emailed one state agency to ask about a discrepancy between their website and the state intranet, and was told:

"Yes, Mr ______ is our director, but he has been redeployed with the US Army to Iraq; Mr ______ is our acting director."

HEAD of a state agency in a very large state - e.g. politicaly appointment, e.g. someone "connected". I couldn't believe what I was hearing. And this was NOT a law enforcement or military-relatede agency.
