1. Excellent!
He's far and away the leader on MSNBC - the best ratings on the whole network.

3. MSNBC must realize, if they want their ratings and revenues to increase
across the board, they have to swing their entire schedule left and transform themselves into a sort of anti-Fox alternative.

7. Absolutely!! I have wished we Democrats could buy that station. The progr
programming has improved, but there is not enough of it. They play those silly exposes or whatever they are called in the evening - when people are home from work at more likely to watch tv.

Abrams just took over as their GM, so maybe things will continue to improve. I hope, I hope.

8. I agree. Faux is losing viewers because, despite facts, they continue...
...to shill for the failed Bush admin. It's patently dishonest, people are realizing it, and turning away in droves.

6. Noting that O'Liely is a Drag, while Keith is a boost
From the chart it looks like even 50K FauxViewers can't stomach Bill O' anymore.

And 3 times that many (180K) "appointment view" Keith's show.

What with every taxpayer-funded TV in DC being ordered to remain on Faux, and the insistence of many freepers to put it on other public screens (bars, hotels, airports, etc...), you have to wonder how much of their touted rating is just unwatched screens.

Or are we to imagine that Ailes has not been willing and able to game the ratings?

9. I have never had cable in my adult life (I am in my mid-thirties)
but when I moved this last time, I ordered cable so I could watch Keith Olbermann. While I don't have a Neilson box in my home to show my new viewership, I can believe that I am not alone.

12. jesus, there are that many stupid people in the US watching O'Reilly?
If propaganda works that easily on "the greatest country in the world," why stop with the lies? The people love being lied to!

18. Well,
it's not on in the base gym. Trust me.

A friend is renting a home. I said that if the home didn't come w/BBC, that would be a deal breaker.

16. If KO had twice the ratings of O'Reilly...it wouldn't mean anything,
Edited on Thu Oct-05-06 01:33 AM by GreenTea
unfortunately, money is not the issue, GE and the republicans have plenty...Its the message getting out BushCo & the corporates don't like, they want 100% republican and they had it (after Donahue) and want it again...They would sacrifice KO in a heartbeat to not have anti Bush messages out there...After all this is about long term money, control and ownership and there's a bigger picture out there...The five republican TV media corporations are again having a carrot dangled in front of them predictably by BushCo, with a new bill that would make ownership by conglomerates even more available to them. If BushCo says "can" KO - They'll find a way to do so, though he's more popular than ever...In the long run the media will prosper and have even more of a tighter grip on what we hear & see...

This is all planned of course by the fascist BushCo & the republican think tanks and corporations.

MSNBC found it very easy to get rid of their top money maker, Donahue, for more deregulation and more profits down the line offered by Bush's FCC.

Fox is there not so much for money and ratings, though that is a plus, if they lost money, Fox would still be there to keep the republican voice & lies out there pounding away.

The republicans have plenty of money to undercut, just like a Wal-Mart.

Doesn't mean however, to not keep watching Olbermann, it matters, keep watching, I sure as fuck will...It'll make it easier for KO to get picked up, hopefully by someone, if and when they do decide enough is enough for them.
