George Tenet fell on his sword big time for government 9/11 story.

It's hard for me to believe he could keep so quiet and take on so much blame, knowing he did his job by sending out the warnings. What's not being said?

He let this organization take the lion's share of the blame. For what? Oh, that shiny Metal of Freedom. Many highly skilled people "resigned" or "retired early" from the CIA due to his successor, Porter Goss and his political appointees. :grr:

No doubt Tenet has been "well provided for". He has a bunch of kids, if I recall, and I'm sure the Bush Family has big things ahead for him.

Tenet never liked Clinton, so it was a no-brainer to keep him on deck as a future scapegoat, and with the lure of big-bucks, Tenet was probably more than willing to go along.

if you recall, he told the 9/11 Commission facts that they refused to make public in their report.

Something smells really bad. Like, why wasn't he scapegoated by this administration? He was a Clinton appointee, he'd have been a perfect fall guy. Yet, nothing. Same with the Iraq intelligence. Was he dismissed and scapegoated for the bad intel? Nope. Instead, he gets a "heckuva job" and Freedom Medal from pResident dimson.

Now we find out he did his job alerting NSA/Pentagon/DoJ on the warnings of 9/11 and he did make this administration aware that there was little hard evidence to justify an invasion of Iraq.

So, why didn't he resign after 9/11 and do a Richard Clarke? For one thing, the 9/11 Commission seems to have purposely left the critical 7/10/01 meeting out of the official narrative. Why? To maintain the administration's contention that our CIA/FBI institutions were mostly responsible for missing the clues pointing to an impending attack on 9/11?

Why didn't he fight this? Only thing I can figure is that they had something really damaging on Tenet, something so ugly/bad that it neutralized his ability to defend himself and the institution that he ran.
