I guess it's the divine right of king's not to be criticized by the peasantry. Here's a story about a lowly peasant who dared to speak to our Vice President.

I never fail to remind my Senators and Congressman in the many angry letters I send them, that they are public servants. I'm probably on a list somewhere with the FBI.
