AP dubs Foley (D-Fl)
Edited on Wed Oct-04-06 12:16 PM by nam78_two
http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/010172.php

via Talking Points Memo:

Good Old Associated Press ...

touched on the uproar over former U.S. Rep. Mark Foley, D-Florida, who resigned Friday in a scandal over electronic messages he sent to former teenage male congressional pages.

The party affiliation that dare not speak its name.

Late Update: As of about 12:18 PM, the version of the AP story I linked to at the San Jose Mercury News has been corrected. But it must have been what the AP sent out over the wire. So I'm sure there are million more examples of it still out there.

EDIT:check out post #4 below.

18. This one has two articles, and uses both D-Fl and R-Fl
http://www.ragged-edge-mag.com/drn/02_03.shtml

CA bill: 90 days' wait before suing
SACRAMENTO, Feb. 1, 2003 --A bill introduced in the Calif. legislature calls for 90-days' notice be given "a public accommodation or housing accommodation" by a disabled person before suing them for access violations, and would prohibit collection of any costs, including attorney's fees. The bill mimics the ADA Notification Act which has been introduced in Congress by Rep. Mark Foley (D.-FL) several times.

Notification Act rears ugly head -- again
Washington, DC, Feb. 12, 2003 -- It's sort of like a bad penny: it keeps coming back. Once again Rep. Mark Foley (R.-FL) has introduced his ADA Notification Act. The bill, which has been introduced by Foley several times in the past, would require a disabled person to give a business 90 days' notice before suing them under Title 3 of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Wtf?

I checked several of the articles, and they have Foley D-Fl. It's crazy.

5. Is it time for the Democratic Party to officially complain about this
since AP has joined FOX News in mislabelling Foley as a Democrat?
The first instance was NO ACCIDENT and the second instance is the beginning of a pattern of concerted misinformation between corporate media outlets.
Does letting it go without a protest encourage full-on Ministry-Of-Truth rewriting of history from the Corpo-Fascist news conglomerate, or will pitching a fit now just damage the public perception of Democrats even more than the deliberate misidentification of all Republican malefactors as Democrats?

24. AP got it right last week!
Fri, Sep. 29, 2006
Associated Press
WASHINGTON - Rep. Mark Foley, R-Fla.(Democrat), abruptly resigned from Congress (Democrat) on Friday in the wake of questions about e-mails (Democrat) he wrote a former teenage male page (Democrat).

"I am deeply sorry and I apologize for letting down my family and the people of Florida I have had the privilege to represent," Foley, 52, (Democrat) said in a statement issued by his office.

Six hours after his resignation (Democrat) letter was read to the House by a clerk, the chairman of a panel that oversees the page program issued a one-page written statement that deflected any blame (Democrat) from House leaders.

The statement from Rep. John Shimkus, R-Ill., said the House Page Board he chairs investigated the allegations late last year, but he said Foley "was not honest (Democrat)" in denying improper conduct (Democrat) with the teenager. Pages are high school students who attend classes under congressional supervision (Democrat) and work as messengers.

AP radio spots reek, I wish my local AAR station didn't carry them.

Thats pretty depressing because unlike Fux, a lot of people get their news only from AP I think.
What are their radio spots like?

27. Bright and cheeful voices talking about Bush and other pukes,
a lot of speech clips, rarely anything from Dems, and when there is Dem stuff their voices not cheery at all. Marked difference. Seriously, once you listen for it it's eerie. They've also gotten quite a few things dead wrong, right off the RNC fax with no fact checking or rebuttal. Can't remember any specifics off the top of my head, but I've posted about it here before.

Listen for the bias, you'll hear it daily. On top of that, rather than covering important news in a tiny bit more detail (like losing habeas corpus) they just instead do celebrity gossip, and their gossip isn't even about interesting celebrities. WTF?

I heard AAR news clips streaming (news clips done by someone at AAR) and they were much more informative. Also WINS has a better clip service. AP is just bottom of the barrel, IMO my station can do better. Which reminds me, I haven't sent them a letter about it yet. Now would be a good time. :)

26. Look at this, it's Reuters @ Yahoo photo
One of the links that turns up in the google search is this:

rss.news.yahoo.com/imgrss/events/en/081902americanidol

Cap:

The if you go to the link in the xml-header, you get the photo thumbs:

D-FL

D-FL

R-FL

Is this a coincidence? I think not. Let's focus on Iran, Condi Rice, Dennis Hastert AND Mark Foley, R-FL.
