Homophobia link

BTW this is MHO only. As a teen, all I knew is I was horny all the time. I had yet to decide whether I liked boys or girls, or both. Girls were off limits in a way because 13-15 year old girls were not interested in experimentation. So, I tried boys. It didn't work. Kissing and touching boys was boring. I knew I wanted girls with boobs. So my experimental years ended with that knowledge.

I'm sure many teenage boys did the same. Only with me, I wasn't steeped in the evils of religious law and forbidden acts. I just shrugged it off as a normal curiosity.

But in this puritanical, god fearing, burn in hell society, a homoerotic encounter could have lasting effects on certain males. They will never forgive themselves because god will never forgive such a biblical no-no. So they bury that history and become rabid homophobes. I think it is an overreaction to the shame. And they think that the total racism against homo's will please god and get them off the hook, and into heaven.

I've simplified it as this: The direct or indirect shaming causes feelings of guilt, the guilt causes repression, the repression creates internalized pressures, the pressures will vent in myriad, and often tragic, ways.
