Help me compose an e-mail to PABBIS regarding the Bible...
You see, the smart folks at Parents Against Bad Books In School (http://www.pabbis.org) have a whole list of books they don't like-- usually they contain swearing, sex (sometimes not even the straight kind! OMG!!!!), and violence.

Scanning their list of "bad" books, I noticed a big omission to their list.

The Bible.

The Bible is one of the bloodiest, sex filled book on the planet. So why does it get a free pass?

I'm looking for recommendations on what passages to use in my e-mail illustrating violence and sex in the Bible-- because this is too good to let them slide on this :D

Check out my blog in my sig-- it has a list of some particularly weird books they object too.

2. oh boy-
how about Lot being seduced by his daughters????-

How about the man who let his 'bondwoman' be raped all night by people, then when he found her laying on the doorstep in the morning cut her body up and sent it to a bunch of cities-

How about David's daughter who was sent in to be raped by her brother- then Absalom another brother who took her in, murdered the brother-

How about the fact that Lot offered his virgin daughters to the mob, who supposedly wanted to rape and abuse the "male angels" that were in his house?

How about the fact that Abraham married his.. half sister(?), and made her pretend they weren't husband and wife so that the Pharaoh wouldn't kill him (Abraham) and that meant she had to be the Pharaoh's sex slave- When the Pharaoh found out he was furious, because he Abraham had caused him to suffer because he didn't know Sarai was married to Abraham.

How about the fact that "King David" a man after God's own heart" lusted after a woman, had sex with her, got her pregnant, (while her husband was off fighting David's war) so he arranged to have the husband come home on leave, so that he could have sex with his wife, (Bathsheba) and no one would suspect anything- but the soldier Uriah, was so 'good' he refused to leave the kings side, and wanted to go right back to his men in the field,- foiled, the King, David had Uriah put in a position where he was surely to be killed. Then when he died, God killed the baby conceived between David and Bathsheba as punishment.

Or the man that said, the next person who come through this door I will kill and sacrifice to you god, and the next person was the man's beloved daughter.

I could go on, and on and on- if you need scripture and verse on any of these, I'll try and get them all for you-

There are a heck of a lot of sick/twisted tales in the bible- especially the old testament.
