I have to say - while LIEberman is covering the airwaves with ads, nobody I know is listening, and I see Lamont lawn signs everywhere. I really think JoeLosers commercials touting "getting along across party lines" is NOT playing well in CT - Foley is "across party lines" and all HE wants to play with is little boys

An American politican JOKING about torture. How could anybody do that? What's wrong with these people? Does Bush touch them with his God-Finger and they go psycho?

Bloodthirst. Massive bribery scandals (--same people who wrote HAVA). Massive theft. Spying. Blackmail. $10 billion "lost" in Iraq. $10 TRILLION deficit. Unparalleled secrecy and lack of accountability. Cowards planning wars. Suspension of habeas corpus.

It's like an Evil Circus flying apart in a tornado. And Lieberman is out there, flying away, trying to hang on the tail of a five-legged elephant.

However, Hannah Arendt said it better. "The banality of evil." If torture is the norm--is our common ground these days--then jokes about torture should not be considered unusual. I imagine the Brownshirts made jokes like that.

It's been about 15 years since I had TV, so I am culturally out of the loop. I vaguely remember Imus as a shock jock. Is he right wing?

But you know something? I'm going to send an e-mail to the Lamont campaign suggesting they do it. Lieberman's big campaign message is, "Oh isn't it terrible that people in both parties hate each other so much...oh why can't we all get along and accomplish something...oh the poisonous political atmosphere, for which I alone am the remedy..."

I'm shocked he would joke about torture, period. But a lot of people who believe his unity schtick would be shocked that he talked about torturing Dems.
