Call With TV News In Background Prompts Fla. School Lockdowns

SANTA ROSA BEACH, Fla. -- An elderly woman accidentally left a message on a school's answering machine with the news in the background -- forcing several Walton County schools to be placed on lockdown.

The sheriff's office said the principal of Butler Elementary called the superintendent after hearing Wednesday's message. On the machine were news reports of the recent school shooting in Pennsylvania's Amish community that left five girls dead.

Extra security was sent to some schools as a precaution, but deputies were able to trace the call to an elderly woman who they say accidentally left the message with TV reports playing in the background.
