Teachers should be able to carry guns in schools-says Rep Frank LaSee R-WI
Lawmaker calls for armed teachers in schools

RAW STORY
Published: Friday October 6, 2006

Teachers should be able to carry guns in schools, says Rep. Frank LaSee (R-WI). Increased incidences of shootings in schools requires increased protection for students and faculty.

In the following video, LeSee says, "It's both a disincentive and I think people who do this, if they're children--they're often bullies and bullies are ultimately cowards--so that will be strong disincentive and, also, to unarm and disarm someone who has come in with a gun. To be able to confront them and stop them from shooting children who are unarmed, and if they have to, fire upon them so that they stop hurting kids. That what this is about."

2. So then why not arms students too?
In case a teacher decides to go on a shooting spree?

11. Students are too young to buy handguns or get permits to carry them

Federal law prohibits a licensed gun dealer from selling a handgun to anyone under 21. Most states won't issue a concealed-carry permit to anyone under 21.

In case a teacher decides to go on a shooting spree?

A person who is prone to outbursts of violent behavior has no business teaching.

ETA Teachers shouldn't have to worry about security. If a school has a security issue, they should hire one or more professional, openly armed security guards. That would be IMO a better deterrant than the possibility that a teacher might be carrying a concealed weapon.

13. Well then clearly we need to change the law
to allow children to defend themselves in school.

"A person who is prone to outbursts of violent behavior has no business teaching."

Well, yeah. And I'm pretty sure homicidal maniacs have no business in schools either.

14. Bush can modify it with a signing statement
If those Amish girls had been armed, by god, they would have fired back.
And that is the world the pukes and the NRA want, 8 or 9 year olds armed to the teeth.

10. Welcome Back Rambo
I saw this guy yesterday. Not only does he want teachers carrying guns, he envisions them stalking the halls after the bad guys, one drawing down on the wayward teen and another pouncing from behind. He gets quite animated at the very idea of these rambo teachers. A real loon.

12. I wouldn't trust me with a loaded weapon during my 2nd period class.
They're spoiled rotten little 10th grade twerps in that class. I really don't think I need the temptation to bring order to my class the immediate way, thank you.
