These people continue to show up the "moral" majority
Here is a group of people who were wronged but still show great strength and dignity. Something that if the Religious Right in this nation had suffered similar circumstances would not have done...

Again the Amish show America what true Christianity means...

Amish mourn gunman who killed 5 girls
GEORGETOWN, Pennsylvania (AP) -- Dozens of Amish neighbors gathered Saturday to mourn the quiet milkman who killed five of their young girls and wounded five more in a brief, unfathomable rampage.

Charles Carl Roberts IV, 32, was buried in his wife's family plot behind a small Methodist church, a few miles from the one-room schoolhouse he stormed Monday.

His wife, Marie, and their three small children looked on as Roberts was buried beside the pink, heart-shaped grave of the infant daughter whose death nine years ago apparently haunted him, said Bruce Porter, a fire department chaplain from Colorado who attended the service.

About half of perhaps 75 mourners on hand were Amish.

"It's the love, the forgiveness, the heartfelt forgiveness they have toward the family. I broke down and cried seeing it displayed," said Porter, who had come to Pennsylvania to offer what help he could. He said Marie Roberts was also touched.

6. That is exactly the way I feel
If I have to advertise that I am something, then maybe I really need to practice being that something a little more because it should show and not need to be advertised.

2. The Amish have the right idea and I applaud them for it....
that is the only way you can go on living or you will end up just like the killer, bitter and vengeful.

3. I'd make a lousy Amish person.
I'd be the one in the bonnet and pinafore, jumping up and down and screaming "WTF"?

5. I grew up near Amish country,
one county over from Lancaster. There are some messed-up aspects of their society, but the same could certainly be said of the larger society -- and more. Puppy mills aside, they have more integrity and dignity in one half of Lancaster County than the Religious Right has in the entire nation. I have been heartbroken this last week listening to the news from back home.
