...All I know is that Bush has allowed millions of high paying high skilled production jobs slip away from the U.S. to be replaced by low pay service type jobs here in this country. By the end of Bush's term, the republicans will have eliminated most of the high paying production jobs in this country along with most unionized labor.

This "recovery" is one purely manufactured by the media repeaters of talking points.

We were experiencing the downfall from the dot-com bubble bursting and then 9/11 hit. I chose 2003 Q4 as that's generally considered when the economic "growth" started making traction.


If you poke around at http://www.epinet.org/ you can find some excellent charts comparing job growth levels from this "recovery" with previous periods of recovery and that really shows the emperor has no clothes.

So far I do know of one family member that got a good starting job from a 2 year college but it means had to drop out with hopes to go back from the company. I am iffy on it but hope for the best for this person. One person has done very well in the health field and the rest are just moving on in like 1 percent raise. It is a hard world out there. We are trying to help one now that has become homeless from no steady work or place to live. I am glad I am retired. I would feel scary out in the world. It does not take much to figure out if every one ask for less money that is what will be paid. I wonder if news jobs are getting made out their. This WH tells so many things that turn out to be un-true.

I'm back into contract programming which offers the risk of not being a full-time, permanent position so I'm taking advantage of it while I can.
