This is a valuable resource and I visit it frequently. There are great speeches on that site, and a goodly number of them are by progressive leaders and historical figures. They are now needing some financial assistance with keeping this going. I do know that this has been a valuable resource for me and I would hate to see it disappear.

2. Ummm.....are you sure about who operates it?
I confess I don't know where I got the impression, but I looked around that site once and decided they must be right wingers. I probably got that idea based on the mix of speeches.

Okay, just now checking it, on the front page under "Iraq War Speeches" there are about 20 speeches listed - almost ALL by Bush. One by Byrd, one by Bremer, one by Blair, one by Condiliar. Only ONE speech by a Democrat about Iraq was important enough to put in the mix?

btw, everything ever said by the US President is now maintained online (text) at GPO Access. Audio files are nice, but I would hope that my tax dollars would be paying for an official archive.

3. Go check this section of the bank.
They have many speeches. Look through the alphabetical listing of speakers. There are some Rs there but there are speeches by many historical figures from the left side too. We need to hear the words of both sides. Lots are texts of speeches but there is a goodly number of electronic media too.
