CNN's Zain Verjee just said that when Bush

included N Korea in his "Axis of Evil" speech and broke off diplomatic relations that this was bound to happen.

Basically, she's saying that due to Bush policies with regard to N Korea that it was inevitable this nuclear test would eventually follow.

She squarely putting the blame on the Chimp.

We're the losers.

Not only did we goad them on, but we gave them a greenlight by pursuing Iraq and getting bogged down there. It's a lot easier to scare the American public into invading an Arab country with no real capacity to respond than to take on an obscure nuclear Asian state that can flatten Seoul in a heartbeat.

There's no "we".

It's all "them"!

I think that was in Woodward's first book. When they wrote "axis of evil", they meant an axis with lots of spokes around the world, with Iraq, Iran and N Korea as the most obvious but not the only spokes. They never intended those three countries to be the main focus. But when it hit the media "big", they decided to just go with it because it resonated so well.

So basically, the intense antagonization of N Korea and Iran is pretty much just another photo op that has blown up in Bush's face.

When bush started shaking his dick around (so to speak) and strutting his stuff as the arrogant phony my-way-or-the-highway cowboy he flattered himself into thinking he was, that sent us down this road to perdition. He didn't want to negotiate. Didn't believe in talking - that's for sissies. Didn't do nuance. It was all swagger and tough-guy. Well, now, he doesn't have a pot to piss in. We're nearly bankrupt, our military is gravely weakened and compromised, our word means shit around the globe, and we're in essense as much of a rogue nation as North Korea is. We can't match our bark with much bite anymore, and Kim Jong-Il knows that. I bet while he was okaying this he was thinking of the U.S. and sassing already - "SO?? You don't like it? Whatcha gonna do about it?" bush has "remodeled" our country and its clout to such an extent that we're no longer negotiating from a position of strength. We stand naked to the world, unable to win wars, unable to wage wars that aren't completely bogus, unable to use our size, wealth, power, and influence for much good in the world anymore. Who the hell wants to listen to us and bet their farms on us anymore?

The Boy Scouts always talk about leaving the camp ground better than you found it. OBVIOUSLY bush was NEVER a Boy Scout.
