Strike 1: After losing the Democratic primary, Lieberman gives democratic voters the middle finger and creates a new party thereby nullifying the democratic primary and assuring a split of democratic voters in the state.
Strike 2: Its telling that Joe's new party is named 'Connecticut for Joe'. In his view and his actions, the main point to be considered is "JOE", not Connecticut. Connecticut is merely supposed to serve Joe.
Strike 3: When being advised that his independent run will aid Republicans office holders in the state, Joe replies "they should have thought about that during the primary". Again giving the middle finger not only to those who voted against him in the democratic primary but also to those democrats who voted for Joe in the primary.
Foul balls: Joe's failure to 'bring home the bacon' in spite of massive currying favor from the GOP shows that he is not 'a player' which the GOP respects. Only NJ was a lower return on US federal receipts v expenditures.
Joe's vote for US concentration camps, US torture, and US suspension of ancient rules of law, shows that Joe has not learned the lessons of democracy or the holocaust. There is nothing that Joe values beyond his position.
Joe's failure to vote on key Iraq legislation shows unwillingness to actual support his own position if he thinks the vote will inconvenience him.
Joe's unability to provide oversight himself (Homeland Security/FEMA) or force the Congress as a whole to exercise oversight of the Bush administration have been horrendously costly for America in both lives and dollars wasted.
