The Bush style -- Come out strong, and then melt in a puddle of muddle
Edited on Wed Oct-11-06 11:24 AM by Armstead
Watching Bush's press conference made it clear what usually happens with Bush's public appearances -- especially those in which has actually has to answer questions.

He starts out strong, in terms of stating his positions. But the longer he goes on, the more repetitious and empty he seems. By the end he was just saying the same things over and over again, to the point where it becomes meaningless babble.

That's because he comes armed with a shallow understanding and a set of talking points. But once he gets past the cliches, he has nothing new to offer. No insights, no ability to connect isolated issues to otehrs in a thoughtful way.

This is in contrast to Clinton, who did have a 3-D understanding of events, and could add nuance and depth.

I think in a larger sense, that's been the pattern in his whole administration. He looked strong in the immediate aftermath of 9-11. But his shallowness and ineptitude became obvious as time went on. So now, he is left repeating the same empty threats and promises he has been making all along.

1. Now you know why he had Scott McClellan as his spokesman for so long.
They have the same void-of-content, heavily repetitive style.

4. His answers were rather devoid of any substance.
*yawn* same old tired talking points.

Its all Clintons fault, because he was for it before he was against it and liberal moonbats wear tin foil hats Ted Kennedy killed a woman and as the Iraqis stand up we'll stand down because if our troops come home terrorists will follow them and Al Gore said he invented the internet because Kerry said terrorists were just a nuisance and liberals just need to get over it and their war on christmas or their war on easter shows that Dean screamed and George Soros gives money to moveon.org who wants us to cut and run rather than adapt to win in addition they do the jobs Americans won't do and view terrorism as a law enforcement issue

6. exactly

This big special report was just a rehearsed photo opp. and he couldn't remember most of his lines.
It's so obvious they are in big trouble(his party) and he was trying to do damage control. Personally I think he created more damage.
His mumbling comes from being nervous about getting caught telling lies.He has trouble remembering what he has already said.
And he knows he will be impeached if the democrats get the majority.

VOTE THE BUMS OUT IN NOVEMBER!
