Bush @ news conference: "If I might say, that is a beautiful suit."

http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/10/11/bush.transcript/

<snip>

BUSH: If I might say, that is a beautiful suit.

QUESTION: Thank you, sir. My tailor appreciates that.

BUSH: And I can't see anybody else who even comes close.

QUESTION: Thank you very much. I'll be happy to pass along my tailor's number ... if you'd like that, sir.

6. Basic black pinstripe.
It was nice. But it was just a suit. BFD.

Also, the next reporter who asked a question Bush actually DISSED because he didn't look as good as Mr. Pinstripe. "That's not even a suit!" The guy apologized and told Bush he needed more advance warning of the press conferences.

The president is just fucking insane.

5. Just as long as he wasn't wearing *shades*.

It wouldn't matter, of course, if he was vision impaired.

24. Thought so....
I've seen and heard this done many times before and it's always a black man
that they are complimenting!...

I've heard many racists comments such as "Yeah, they dress well, but don't know shit"

10. Plainly,
it's a desperate attempt to ingratiate himself with those he views as either hostile or possible enemies. In his (twisted little) mind, he thinks that by complimenting the reporter's suit, the reporter will then respond in kind with softball questions and puff pieces extoling Our Dear Leader's "virtues" ... because he liked the reporter's suit.

It's pathetic, it's juvenile and, well, it's basically Bush!

:eyes:

Seriously, the leader of the free world is majorly fucked up. :scared:

P.S.: Was the reporter bald by any chance?

...no seersuckers (if I remember correctly), but he likes pinstripes. No "shades," either.

He ought to have his own show on Bravo, "Bush Eye on the Straight Guy."

George bush*. It just shows his true disdain for the democratic process. He's obviously irritated that he has to respond to the American people whatsoever.
