I'd Like To See "Man Of The Year," But...
I can't stand Robin Williams.

I know that he's a big leftie, and I appreciate his being a Francophile and a fan of Le Tour et al,
but I have never found him to be funny. His rapid-fire schtick doesn't resonate with me at all. And
I don't like his dramatic work either.

I guess there's something wrong with me.

1. I like him, but
he's one of those actors where you can never stop saying "That's Robin Williams in an acting role."

2. I like him, but...
I was ready to throw a brick through my television when he was on Bill Maher's show the other night. He needs to learn when to shut the fuck up.

6. Me too.
I put my fingers in my ears to shut him up as I vainly looked for the clicker...

Whenever I see him on any show I'm always embarassed for him and worried about what he'll say and do. I'm sure he's delightful to have as a friend, but I can't take him AT ALL!!!

and he really kind of pissed me off. He had some interesting comments but most of the time he just wouldn't STFU and be serious.

5. I've always thought that Mr. Williams could benefit
greatly by use of the ever popular "Chill Pill"...

i intentionally do not watch him - never could
i find him far too grating but i do want to support this new movie given the subject matter of electronic voting

gads he could not stop on bill maher the other night
even when others were trying to talk he couldnt stop with the obvious hand gestures impersonating foley or other gop-ers and that was when he was "quiet"
yikes

but he is well informed and i thank him for his passion for politics + bringing up how many citizens killed in iraq - too bad the johns hopkins study didnt come out a week sooner
robin quoted 100k killed in iraq war which was the highest number circulated outside of blogs etc but now more know the truth

8. Each to his own, I guess. I'm really looking forward to seeing
Man of the Year! I LOVED the spot where he was wearing a cammo army uniform, and wasrunning with a rifle yelling "The President's going paint balling!"

It looks like a really funny movie!!!

10. It is actually about E-voting and election fraud!
At least, that is what I read the other day. It is supposed to be much more than a comedy, it is a commentary on our entire fucked up system. I will probably wait for DVD or PPV, only because I won't shell out 9 bucks for a movie unless there is some compelling reason to see it on the big screen (like a LOTR epic or something).

11. Oh I agree! I'm waiting forthe PPV or DVD too!
I've readway to many bad stories about how much it costs to go to the theater, and thecrying babies, whining kids, and blabbering adults spoining the movie! I won't spend That much money! I'll just wait! It shouldn't be that long, and it will only cost me $3.99!

9. He appeals to extraverts, I believe.
Being an extravert, I enjoy him immensely ... and have ever since 'Mork & Mindy.'
