Fox Calls Olbermann "Twisted & Sick"

In response to Keith Olbermann's segment on Countdown last night, a Fox insider attacked Olbermann:

"Keith is twisted and sick -- he should get a life before his delusional rants embarrass him more than they already have."

The insider didn't comment on the content of Olbermann's remarks...

I honestly don't know - I think it's a stage of developing social skills and a learned behavior. People feel compelled to agree or disagree and to tell you that they hate you because they disagree, instead of why they disagree. Ad hominem is just lazy thinking.

Unfortunately, it's also often successful at distracting from the issues under discussion.

I would expect no less from Fox.

It's been a kind of news conditioning, leaving many believing that where they "stand" on an issue, and their level of passion in that stance, is more important than understanding the issue to begin with.

What he said last night was that they do not offer comment on the truth of the message, they simply attack the messenger. I'm paraphrasing, but that was the gist of it.

Did Fox even listen to what he said last night? It's really asinine when someone gets self-righteously indignant and starts the namecalling routine because, well, they got caught namecalling instead of addressing the facts.

You don't have the facts on your side, you've just had your ass thoroughly handed to you on a silver platter, so what do you do? Attack the messenger. Smear and spin as much as humanly possible in hopes that you can distract the audience from the real issue, which is the fact that you're wrong. I remember seeing on Keith's show (a video) of him talking about John Gibson and how a guy from American's for Seperation of Church and State stated Gibson was lying about everything in his little book and than Gibson refuted back and said "you're the liar so there!" It was something childish like that. What children these people are!

Fox was all over Walter Cronkite last year shortly after Outfoxed came out because Cronkite called Faux News what it is--disinfotainment (my word, not his). If I were Olbermann, I'd take Fox's reaction as high praise.

Being the annoying and craven individual I am, I asked the question again, pointing out they had not answered it! That was greeted by the backup team and an accusation that 'liberals' are bullying morons, 'demanding that people answer their idiotic questions'!! I just laugh at them now. In the beginning I used to be awed by the depth of their state of denial It would take an intensive period of deprogramming by professionals to even begin to empty their addled brains of the garbage they have absorbed. Keith will love it, though. Hannity was attacking Al Franken a while ago, but then got mad at himself because Al thanked him for the increased sale of his books. What it actually reminds me of is when FOX tried to sue Franken because he wrote a book that was critical of the precious O'Reilly, a lawsuit that was so predestined to get thrown out, most people assumed that O'Reilly must have kicked his feet and held his breath until his face turned blue. It was the only way FOX execs could get the dimwitted diva to STFU. "You're right Bill, we'll sue the bad man for calling you those mean names. Now doesn't that make wittle Billy feel lots better? Here, have a couple of these lollipops on your way out."

I don't want to even try to imagine what kind of fit was pitched by Gibson and O'Reilly but I'm sure it was bad, and I'm sure it's ongoing. They must be flouncing around raising quite a little snit. Love to see them showing us what they're really made of underneath the fake tough guy shtick.

Of course, that's not exactly news, but seems Gibson took the wrong tack on that one. Whattsamatter John? Don't have the clout to get Fox to sue Keith and get laughed out of court? Meanwhile a "Fox insider" doesn't comment on the fact that Keith played the tape with Gibson in full context. Those Fox guys don't like to bother with a pesky detail called factual accuracy. They're the ones in the delusion spreading business.
