FL Reform Party candidate for governor (Max Linn) lands plane on I-4
http://www.wesh.com/traffic/10071271/detail.html

ORLANDO, Fla. -- A small plane that landed Friday on Interstate 4 in Orange County was piloted by a candidate in the Florida governor's race.

Reform Party candidate Max Linn, 47, was the only person on board the plane, WESH 2 News reported.

snip...

Linn told his staff that he had some engine trouble on the way to Lakeland. He made an emergency landing in Lakeland, but he thought he had fixed the problem, so he took off for Orlando. He said the problem got worse on the way to Orlando.

He was heading to Orlando to meet with volunteers and drop off some campaign materials before heading to St. Augustine.

Linn's personal plane is currently being repaired, so he rented this one in St. Petersburg.

1. He'll probably think twice before flying on Friday the 13th again!

2. That is one way to get publicity, the other would have been to land

3. Traffic was backed up a long way, here.
I think now that people know who was flying the plane that caused the back up, they will probably be less likely to vote for him...lol.

4. I landed on I-40 many years ago. My engine was shooting out
sparks and I couldn't remember where the Henryetta, OK airport was, so I used that thousand-mile long
runway. But it isn't something I'd recommend - there can be a lot of hard to see hazards along
those roads! ;-)

5. I'm a little surprised at some of the responses to this
They seem a bit cold-hearted. The landing was rough enough that Linn was sent to the hospital and underwent tests including a CAT scan as a precaution.

If he were a Dem would the tinfoil hats be on instead?

6. I wonder if this was after he outed Charlie Crist?

This is the same guy who announced that it is common knowledge that GOP gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist is gay. Any connection? Nah, probably not but hey it's late and I'm bored.

7. It was after
The radio show was Wednesday, this incident happened Friday. That's why I picked out the part about Linn's plane being in for repairs and the one he had trouble with being a rental! Partisan mechanics?

Dunno...it's late and I get tinfoily after dark. :)
