LA Times endorses Arnold Schwarzenegger!

in today (saturday) preview of tomorrow's Sunday paper the Times endorses Arnold for governor.

lots of BS reasons given but the main one IMO is that Arnold is more colorful and sells lots more papers for them.

Angelides will be dull and un-hollywood, less likely to move newsprint for the Tribune Company as it dismantles the LA flagship paper.

has given them a special "exemption"---however any time the Bush administration does a favor for a media company it comes at a price. The price that is being paid by the LA Times is its investigative reporting staff is being cut. When the managers protested, they were fired. The paper is being turned into another Bush mouthpiece.

This is the paper that just 10 months ago was the only US paper to print the story about how the CIA accidently gave IRAN an almost perfect blueprint for a working nuke--making W.'s claim that Iran is a dangerous nuclear power a lot closer to being a reality than it would have been otherwise.

The FCC and the Bush administration are going to make sure that does not happen again.

There are buyers for the LA Times. There is no reason that it has to be illegally owned by a company that owns a TV station in LA. Citizens of LA are up in arms. However, the FCC refuses to enforce federal law, because it likes being able to turn the LA Times into the Washington Times.

Their regular editorial pages have expunged longtime LA times editorial favorites like Robert Scheer for jerks like Max Boot and cartoonist Ramirez.
