Cruel joke on a GI's anti-war mom?
I first met this woman over 25 years ago. She is a genuine and caring person, a youth mental health therapist, and she taught me modern dance. I think some pro-war freak was out to hurt her because she has been very vocal against the war. :-(

Returned letter to son in Iraq is stamped 'deceased,' but he's alive
BY EMILY GURNON
Pioneer Press

Joan Najbar of Duluth, Minn., can't get an explanation for the mysterious return of a letter to her National Guardsman son in Iraq. Joan Najbar spoke with her son, a Minnesota National Guard soldier serving in Iraq, on Wednesday.

So she was shocked, she said, when a letter she had mailed to him Sept. 29 arrived back in her mailbox Friday morning. It was stamped "DECEASED."

Her son, 21-year-old Sam Eininger, is very much alive, a National Guard spokesman said Friday. The question now is, who put the ominous stamp on her letter?

"It's very upsetting, and somebody obviously did it," she said. "I think this is somebody's cruel little joke."

Someone was probably mad at her for this: (Check out the video)

2. I agree with your presumption. Someone felt she had to suffer
and worked hard to make it happen.

3. I would venture to guess it is someone in the Post Office
who has access to the mail in her area? Tampering with mail is a Federal crime...

7. It has a Duluth PO cancellation mark
Either someone had to steal the letter from her mailbox, forge a cancellation mark and stamp and return it to her mailbox, or there is some rapid right-winger postal employee.

I really hope they catch who was responsible.

8. I agree. The right-wingers are some very sick people
I can't wait until this country kicks all the hate-mongers out of power. They just encourage this kind of ugly stuff.

6. It's another example of those "conservative values" - "support the troops"
by cruelly attacking mothers who don't want to lose their sons/daughters. And I'll bet the lost soul who stamped the envelope sleeps like a baby at night.

9. Whoever did this should either go to prison, or be boxed up and
shipped to Iraq. After the son and his fellow soldiers have 'explained' that this was wrong, the fuckstick can do menial labor around the base and drive supply convoy trucks until the last soldier comes home...
