Anybody remember "Behold a Pale Horse"? (US prison camps)
All these threads about American prison camps being built by Haliburton make me think of an old book from the early 90s, "Behold a Pale Horse" that seemed an interesting combination of insane panic and drivel. I know that a lot of Repug friends of mine were into it at the time and told me that Clinton was building prison camps in the US and was planning for all people to be injected with microchips. It all sounded Art Bell loopy at the time.

Yet as nutty as the book was--and it was quite nutty--some of its loopy ideas are finding their way into left and alternative media. I wonder why these ideas are being floated again.

The book: http://www.amazon.com/Behold-Pale-Horse-William-Cooper/dp/0929385225/sr=8-1/qid=1160885037/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-0469104-5769762?ie=UTF8

1. Vaguely. I had to check Wikipedia to refresh my memory.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Milton_Cooper It's not a high priority, but I may Google him further.

I regard myself as "left" (ie: "left-libertarian"), and am pretty familiar with that millieau, but I recall nobody in such circles who held such beliefs. But as an observer of the far-right, I see a much closer kinship there ---- particularly in the "survivalist" & "militia" types. Timothy McVeigh would be a better fit.

4. I agree. That's why I am befuddled by this concentration camp talk
It's as if Junior administration has been so unbelievably awful that we are turning into the Art Bell crowd.

2. Bill Cooper....
...was an absolute whacked-out loonie.

He had a radio program on WWCR (shortwave bands) called The Hour Of The Time.

It was pure militia-type paranoid insanity; I mean really, REALLY over-the-top stuff.

Last I knew, he sucked off a pistol and went to the great milit-idiot training camp in the sky.

But I could be wrong on the details....

I wouldn't be too surprised about the "rumors"; they have been around for over 30 years. The "bad guys" keep changing in the scenarios, but the general story doesn't change much.

3. Thanks for the info. All this talk of Haliburton concentration camps has
got me doing flashbacks to the 1990s. I am just curious as to why this story is resurfacing again, this time on the left. Are we becoming the Ruby Ridge crowd?
