9. "Clearly" was HUGE in the runup to bush's war of choice
I'd never heard the word used so many times in my life before bush's sabre-rattling. Condi seemed to be the worst offender.

Seems in the past year or so, they haven't been using the word nearly as much as they used to.

24. I had never heard that one before! THANKS!!!
I'll deploy that to good effect. It brings to mind that classic collection of "9-11!"! & "Saddam Hussein!! " from that 2004 Reptilican Convention.

27. "Terror"; "abortion"; "homosexual agenda"; "culture wars";
Edited on Mon Oct-16-06 05:56 AM by LeftishBrit
"Saddam Hussein" (but not so often "Bin Laden"); "liberal" (as a Bad Thing); "family values"; "defense of marriage"; "worldview"; "God" (as in God has ordained right-wing politics); "godly"; "Christian" (as in it's godly and Christian to vote for Bush).

If you'd believe it, I was once spammed, all the way over here, with unwanted communications from an American Christian Right organization called "Worldview" or something similar, and I got quite a lot of these words from there.

30. Two leap to mind immediately.
When talking about a perceived success, or a level of access or the degree to which their operations are transparent (as if!), they use 'unprecedented'. Its always a misnomer when used by the GOP.

When attempting to explain a negative event they use the phrase 'no one cound have imagined...' Aluminum foil on a filling or fingernails scraped down a blackboard or a crying child left alone are all upsetting. The GOP's misuse of words is dangerously so.
