Is blood for blood all humans know?
Will a reckoning come?
Will it be repaid in kind?
All the blood in the world that's been spilled?
Will the whole world finally be blind?

If we kill anyway, everyday, our fellow man.
Maybe it should be only, rarely, necessarily.
In justice's name.
Is there a scale somewhere counting the balance?
Will a cosmic judge find us all to blame?

Have we lost, finally, to the darkness?
Did enough not stand for truth?
Have we made a hell against which even Hell pales?
Should more have sacrificed to stop evil men?
Is there a story book ending where good prevails?

Judgments by God or what we've ruled for ourselves?
Have we always been on this path?
Fated to destroy?
All we've built, all that lives?
As if they're only toys?
