Curt Weldon's best friend, senior advisor to his campaigh and the partner of Curt's daughter's company is Charlie Sexton - the leader of the Republican party in Weldon's suburban Philly district. Here's some info on Sexton:
"In 1981, Sexton was named as a target in a federal grand jury probe into election tampering. The case centered on a Ridley Township Democrat, Richard Burke, who was tapped to run as a puppet candidate in the primary against incumbent county controller Thomas Lynch.
A former Republican, Lynch switched parties after a falling out with Sexton. Burke would eventually testify his candidacy was orchestrated by Sexton and other Republican officials and claimed he was offered cash, a "no-show" state job and a scholarship for his son in exchange for entering the race.
Burke, who wore a wire for the government, testified Sexton offered him "anything he wanted" to run against Lynch.
The case was eventually thrown out of court.
Now an adviser to Weldon’s opponent, Joseph Sestak, Landau said he holds no personal animosity toward Sexton and laughed when reminded of a memorable exchange with Sexton when he was running for Congress.
After Sexton linked Landau to a crime committed by a member of his extended family, Landau responded by sending flowers to Sexton, to thank him for "firing up" his campaign workers.
The unexpected gift prompted Sexton to call Landau a "fruitbar" and question his sexuality. "Real men don’t send other men flowers ..," he said. "A real man wouldn’t do that. I have no way of knowing whether he’s warm for my form."
