David Kuo on Book-TV (C-Span) - An Observation
David Kuo is on C-Span on Book-TV. He is the Author of "Tempting Faith, and Inside story of political seduction" He spoke at Olsson's Books and Records on 10/19/06, last thursday.

Here is my observation: There are very few people in the audience and judging by the questions what few of them that are there all come from the far Christian right. It is not a friendly audience, small as it is. Kuo held his own well in front of them and would not be lured into petty arguments. It is particularly notable that he's not getting questions from any progressives in the audience - because there aren't any. They do indeed eat their own.

1. Saw him on Realtime Friday
and found him to be very credible. THis is the third or fourth time I've seen him and he continues to impress.

He certainly goes against the "conservative Christian" stereotype.

2. those same people
would have licked his feet pre-book. Or maybe not, as I think his 'sin' is telling the truth. I admire the way he handles his critics.

3. Reading his book right now.
It is good that the audience is mostly conservative so-called "Christians". They are the ones who need to read this book and question their blind faith.

I am reading the book to gain insight on how the enemy works/thinks from a political perspective. It is very revealing. Everyone who spends time with freepers - friends or family - should take a look at this book.

He has a strong message for real Christians. The Christian-Taliban folk will be furious with him and have no chance of understanding what has happened to them and their institutions. In fact, most of the people that really, really hate him will never read the book.

4. With Tweety last week, KUO spun, backpeddled, rationalized
Edited on Sun Oct-22-06 11:07 AM by UTUSN
Tweety trotted out the hot quotes one by one that were causing a storm, and to just about every one, KUO said, no, that's not exactly what he meant, that's not how it was. He said that Shrub is a good, decent "man of faith," that it actually wasn't KKKarl who called the fundies names, that KUO couldn't exactly say WHO it was, and on and on. Tweety was sputtering in frustration, uable to pin him down. Now Tweety knows how WE feel trying to pin TWEETY down.
