FOUR points now. Anyone have any other information on this race??? If this is true, what has happened???

The ticking time bomb is about to go off, are we going to get "screwed" again???

13. Duno
The Trubune endorsed her... So I don't think they wook "cook" a poll against her.

4. Here is what I found
The survey shows that in one of the most hard-fought races in the nation, state Sen. Peter Roskam of Wheaton holds a narrow 4 percentage-point edge over Democrat Tammy Duckworth of Hoffman Estates in the 6th Congressional District.

5. One factor may be she joined the Scary Brady Campaign to ban guns.
Gore and Kerry joined Brady and supported banning guns and lost the presidency for we Dems.

Clinton and Gore have both said being anti-gun or perceived as being anti-gun was a major factor in Gore's loss.

18. Dammit
this one issue costs us so many votes. I have two good friends who are liberal as can be but who are voting on this one issue. They are gun owners and are afraid of legislation to have them banned so will vote pub. I own guns too and hate this issue in the dem party but I am holding faith that the courts would stop any attempt to undo this right.

19. I Agree With About GUNS! I Have Never Been Able To See
why this has "inflamed" so many!! Correction, I KNOW why it's an issue... Repukes made it that way, but when I was younger my father hunted deer all the time and this was NOT something he considered in a yea or nay way. We weren't financially affluent and he hunted as a family provider. I ate more venison than any other kind of meat until I got married.

Looking back, I know my father felt he was doing the correct thing and it was his duty to provide, but today, as a liberal and one who has made certain decisions regarding various issues, I simply would NEVER eat venison, or most meat anyway! But growing up as an Army brat who lived in Germany for more time than most military brats, I recall my father's collection of antlers and how proud he was. And he was the one who taught me early on about LIBERAL policies and introduced me into politics at a very YOUNG age.

No guns in THIS family now! When my husband is away I sleep with a very large knife under a pillow, and a large wooden carved bird! I envision someday seeing a headline... woman kills man with wooden bird after being attacked!! Just a funny that I pass on to many people!

22. RKBA is about law-abiding citizens having tools/arms to exercise their
inalienable right of self-defense.

It's not about hunting!

28. Totally Agree Myself... Was Just Recalling My Experience
with guns! We used to live in Texas and my husband went Deer hunting and we had quite a few 'Uh conversations about this! I have a real problem with guns and even before guns were an issue I NEVER bought my son the usual "Cowboy" holster sets that were so popular in a state like Texas. He never suffered by not taking up arms in any way!!

24. RKBA is a big issue every election in many areas. Enough areas to
keep Dems from the White House and control of congress in close elections.

IMO this election will be much closer than many believe.

27. Gore won. By a large margin.
While his position on gun control may not have been popular, it matters not with relation to the 2000 election, which he won.

Appointment by SCOTUS does not equal winning an election.

31. Gore lost TN (own home state) and WV on the gun issue...
and those electoral votes would have given him the election without Florida.

Florida wouldn't have even been close enough to recount had it not been for the fact that Gore's ban-more-guns approach played so badly there. They don't call it the "Gunshine State" for nothing.

6. Yes, BUT ...
... the story on the poll is couched within a story about how the "red" Chicago suburbs are changing and becoming bluer. It points out that Duckworth is well within striking distance and could very well win.

It's a positive story, especially coming from the very Republican-leaning Tribune.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=2QHwa0o7sUg

roscummm's ads were plain evil lies and I think Obama will make a difference. I hope. I hope. I hope.

Obama is very popular here in IL even in that right wing leaning district.

I wasn't trivializing. She is truely worthy of support no matter if she was way ahead or way behind. Just trying to plant some ideas of action.

10. The RNC has been running non-stop ads against Duckworth
Almost all ads are attacks on the immigration issue.

It is very tiring hearing the same ads over and over, at least one attack ad per each commercial break.

17. Not yet, but it would be nice to see it and get a break from all
the hate foreigners ads the RNC is running.

If it isn't an anti-Duckworth ad its an anti-Melissa Bean ad.

Seeing a Obama ad would be a refreshing change.
