Concerning voter enthuiasm
While watching some ESPN aftergame coverage yesterday, it occured to me that it would be so nice if we could get young people to be as enthuiastic about voting as they are about supporting a football team.
I am NOT saying there is anything wrong with supporting your team with abandon, but rather that I just wish they could put some equal measure into things that actually affect thier lives, like voting.
I realize its a pipe dream, but I can still wish.

1. They need a strong young leader. Our Ava is an inspiration.
I wonder if she could handle a radio show. I would love to see her love for peace shine over this Country. Mike Malloy is starting NovaM radio. He might be able to arrange a small spot for her. Even a short comment to reach other social conscious teens would help. Just an idea.....

Ava,Mike if you see this .....talk.

2. I think average Joe voter.
Is turned off when 80% of the ads during any hour of TV,is negative mudslinging. My daughter is writing an article for her college newspaper entitled"What if they had an election and no one came?" About the mudslinging and halftruths in the ads. It's becoming a problem.

3. It really is so bad that most ads are pure fabrication or worse
out and out lies. I wish the laws were harsher on telling lies in ads. Retractions are useless, the damage is done when the ad is seen.

4. Voter turnout is cyclical
Turnout was relatively low in the 1910s and 1920s, which was the last time serveral important historical, cultural, political and economic cycles matched the situation 80s and 90s. Turnout should start to increae again in the next few elections and then peak in the 2040s.
