Sixteen Candles for Soldiers Photos
Edited on Sun Oct-22-06 08:46 PM by Ava
"Sixteen Candles for Soldiers" went really well. The lots of local media came out to cover it and Mother Jones Magazine sent a reporter down to cover it also. It was covered in the Montgomery Advertiser and the local news stations also did stories on it. We got our message across which was the most important part. We went from 4pm to about 9pm and because it was so long people came and went but after counting all those who showed up we had about 100 come including an Iraq war Veteran. All the musicians were AWESOME and it really looked amazing at the State Capitol Building. We had a candle light vigil that included Ian Rhett singing the national anthem and us remembering the fallen soldiers by lighting candles in their honor. I also recieved emails from people across the country saying that they were going to light candles Saturday night and place them on their front porches to also honor the fallen. Thanks so all those who came out and all the musicians who played. It really means a lot to me and to the peace movement. Thanks ya'll!

I'm real good at cursing the darkness of our political circumstances. You light candles.
