Hey.... we've converted the Repubs!
Yesterday in the mail I got a pamphlet from the County Republican Party. (I think one of my pervert friends put me on their mailing list.)

On the back was their Platform.

"We support economic development and real jobs".... so I guess they're going to stop outsourcing and raise the minimum wage and then do something about the national deficit that's going to kill any chance for economic development.

"We acknowledge that taxes are necessary for government to provide essential services.".... so I guess they're going to stop the insane anti-tax bullshit they've supported in the past. They're finally coming around to the idea that taxes pay for services. That's a big change.

"We strongly advocate for individual rights as protected by our Constitutions.".... so they repudiate the loss of rights, including habeas corpus, that Dumbya and the Repub congress have made into law. Welcome to America, Repubs.

"We support sensible local regulations for environmental protection."... They've gone Green on us! They'll support the rollback of Dumbya's program to enrich his corporate buddies by poisoning the air, water, and land. They've finally gotten over that bullshit "It's mah laynd en ah kin do whut ah wont to with it" idea.

"We support a strong military as essential to our national security."...sounds like they want to get out of Iraq and try to save what's left of our military, since even the Reserves and National Guard are exhausted and running out of equipment. They've finally realized that the present wars are doing nothing to increase our security.

"We advocate for a parents' right to educate their children." ... Sounds like they have now started supporting the public schools. I hope they'll also back funding of the schools. That would really be a big step for Repubs.

1. "We lie through our teeth to fool people into voting for us."

2. This part means vouchers and subsidized home schooling

They'll let "parents" educate their children, not public schools.
