Could you?

1. Is this question answerable? |
|
I'm not sure. Of course, I'd like to say I would be brave in the face of the worst tortures and go to my death while spitting in the eye of my captors and a defiant tilt to my stone jaw but could I?

6. In the 70's I spit in the face of the Warden of the Muskogee Cty Correctional |
|
Facility (I was arrested for haven long hair, driving a Microbus painted like an American Flag and doing 30 in a 25 zone... Hey it was the early seventies)...
He beat the holy shit outta me and shaved my head.
Lesson learned: Be pretty damned sure about what you believe in before you react.
I'd do it again.

2. I would force them to torture me. First blood I would tell them EXACTLY |
|
What they WANTED TO HEAR. We all know they would break you eventually. Why put yourself thru that horror? It is not as if they would gain anything by me echoing what they wanted to hear. They would gain nothing new or valuable. An added benefit might be that I would still have my fingernails testicles and eyelids. What would be gained by subjecting myself to anal interrogation by these sadistic a$$hat$?

4. That is logical, but logic does not work with torture. |
|
If you fess up too soon you will be tortured just to be sure you really are telling the truth. You might be tortured because your torturer is a sadist because they rather like that sort of thing.

3. Agree with genie_weenie... I don't think anyone can answer this |
|
Everyone would like to say yes, but how can we know what torture would do to our minds or our spirits.
I hope I could say that if it were me, but sitting in the comfort of my apartment, it would be arrogant of me to presume I could imagine such suffering.

5. V for Vendetta was a fantastic movie, one of my all time favorites. |
|
But Evey's torture was rather clean and bloodless by torture standards. Had it been more realistic, Evey would have been a broken shell of her former self after enduring the torture to the end. It was a movie and her reply that she would rather die behind the chemical shed was done to make a point and not to be a realistic portrayal of torture.
