Bushbots quaking in their boots about W being impeached
Is so entertaining. The assholes had no problem in impeaching Clinton for a blow job. But they have a problem with W being impeached for his lies and leading us into a war against an innocent country?

1. I thought the plan was for us to let them go unpunished.
We supposedly don't have time to do the right thing.

2. Impeachment is just the censure of a President.
At least that's what the Republicans told me when Clinton was impeached. Maybe the Republicans should breathe into a paper bag for 30 seconds, cooperate with any subpoenas and let the chips fall where they may.

and invading a country with no reason and killing our troops. Which is the greatest wrong? Americans have to start waking up.

W should be impeached. He's harmed our country beyond belief, and killed thousands of innocents and our troops. At www.icasualties.org

That lying murderer (along with Cheney, Rummy, Condi, Wolfie, and the rest) should be tried as a war criminal.

17. I didn't think that Clinton's impeachment was warranted,
but you know as well as I do that Clinton was not impeached for a bj, but rather for lying under oath about it. Let's be brutally honest, if Clinton has kept it in his pants for anyone but Hillary, Gore would have easily been elected and we would not be talking about this now.

20. Let's be even more honest (bear with me)
If the MOTHERFUCKING REPUBLICANS weren't so GODDAMN, FUCKING HUNG UP ON FUCKING SEX, they wouldn't have particularly wanted to impeach him in the first place.

Had to get that out...

These people have some fairly serious sexual issues, and need to get checked out. Blowjobs shouldn't bother them enough that they want to catch and punish someone for lying about getting one. Treatment may be a good option for them- who knows.

32. You are absolutely right.
Clinton's next best choice would have been to admit that he had done it while under oath. Technically, they got him impeached for the lying, not the bj.
Hindsight is 20/20 and I am sure that if Clinton knew what would have happened he would have done things differently, but the risk of getting caught was probably the thrill. JFK couldn't help himself either with his behavior with women and had he been president in this era he would have been in trouble also. The problem with any of us going back and doing things differently is that we would be just as likely to make new and bigger mistakes.

Republicans are by their nature, conservative, and that goes for sex also. They saw nothing wrong with going after Clinton for it, especially their representatives. By the same token, things that we, as Democrats, want to impeach Bush for doing, Republicans see no problem with his actions just as we would have no problems with Clinton's sexual proclivities.

(In the replies to my post there is somebody called "Ignored". I have no idea who that might be, but I know how they got that way. So dear Ignored, please feel free to put me on your list. My list is very small considering there are over 96,000 registered users here at DU.)

27. It's better
that we see exactly what Republican one-party Unitary Executive rule is really all about. Had to open the can of worms sometime. The sewer's overflowing.

To blame it all on Clinton and Clenis at this point is hilarious. Fact is the whole Boosh Residency has been a total disaster of historic proportions resulting in a huge mandate for change. Also if Gore had been elected we would not be talking about how dysfunctional and antiquated our election system is. And we need to face that.

The Reign of King George has shown us more about the nature of criminality, exploitation and lying for power and profit than Clinton ever did. It has also shown us how fearful and desperate our population is-- and that we are not really a strong people as a whole. If we overcome the legacy of George and the Repiglicans we will have learned a very hard lesson. Maybe we will become more resistant to being serially abused by our own leaders.

15. The Bush Bubbahs are dumb enough to think it will just be revenge
No, it won't be revenge for the constitutional farce they put us through in 1998-99.

Guess what, Freepers? It has nothing to do with Clinton. The Clinton impeachment is a red herring.

Bush and Cheney are war criminals and deserve to be impeached, and that's just the beginning.

18. Impeachment without conviction may be a moral victory,
but just as with Clinton, Bush would serve out his second term. It still appears that some still think that impeachment would put Bush out of office.

Edited on Mon Oct-23-06 04:05 AM by pamela
I think they are trying to convince mainstream America that if the Democrats regain power we will spend the next two years embroiled in impeachment hearings. Now, while most people don't like Bush anymore, they probably aren't too excited about impeachment, either. It's the old changing-horses-terror-terror-terror meme.

I've seen several freeper-types come onto other message boards today and say that if the Dems take control of the Senate and/or Congress they will impeach Bush and Cheney and then Nancy Pelosi will be President. Yes, I know that makes absolutely no sense but we are talking about morans here. The fact that I've seen that very message three times today on three different boards makes me think that it's coming from higher up and that it's a new tactic. Dumb asses.

23. Pelosi was very noble and wise last night on 60 Minutes.
She said if the Dems take control she will NOT push for impeachment as it would be a "huge waste of time." She also said she would not shut out republicans from the amendment process like Hastert & company are currently doing to the minority party. But of course this quote will be overlooked by the media in their rabid effort to paint her as a scary malicious pit bull (think Sean Insannity).

"S" standing for SUBPOENA.

It would be interesting to see how long it would take the Repubs to realize that Bush's political future needs to be foresaken for the good of the herd.

I actually think that a war crimes investigation/indictment in Europe could serve as the necessary impetus for the Dems to initiate hearings, in an effort to put the matter to rest.

29. Bush's Impeachment and Removal from Office will NEVER happen
Do the math:

Impeachment is voted on in the House by a simple majority. Assuming that all goes the way it should (Dems take House), the Impeachment is possible. But the final objective of removing the lying scumbag from the office he has disgraced CANNOT be gained via the Constitutional method.

It takes 2/3'rds of the Senate to vote for removal. At the best, as things stand now, come the new Congress this next Jan., the D's will have a one or two vote majority.

Hate to be a buzz kill so early this am.

34. It is a good reality check,
but I have not had much success in pointing it out. It would be a moral victory and could bring other things to light. I am all for it AFTER we win the election and if it does not consume most of the next 2 years. If the next 2 years becomes mostly about impeachment to the exclusion of other issues, the voters in 2008 might not be too happy about it.
