Poll question: Would you like to see President Bush impeached?
Assuming you could strip out the politics, and assuming we had a good chance of successfully removing him from office, would you like to see the President Impeached.

1. What Is This, A Trick Question?
After all, we aren't sitting here, making targets of ourselves, for the hell of it.

4. It's not intended as a trick
It's a contrast to the poll that discusses support or opposition for Nancy Pelosis decision not to put impeachment on the table.

8. Many people seem to have misinterpreted the earlier poll.
As you point out, it wasn't about whether or not bush should be impeached

3. Is there something stronger than Impeachment?
I think the Right Wing Conspiracy Theorists stripped it of it's
meaning during their years and millions of dollar witch hunt of
Elected President William Jefferson Clinton.

6. Those are some pretty big assumptions, but i'll bite.
IF you could take the politics out, and IF there was any chance at all of convicting in the Senate, then sure, impeachment would be great.

Sadly, you can't take the politics out, and it's looking more and more like there ain't a snowball's chance in hell of getting a conviction in the Senate.

21. That's sort of the point
Some seem to be construing support for Nancy Pelosi's decision not to move forward on impeachment as support for President Bush or lack of desire to see him face justice.

Either would work to very effectively remind the entire country why we should not ever, ever elect Repugnicans to office.

22. "assuming you could strip out the politics"
Such as by making the assumption that we'd be able to hand pick his successor, and assuming that no one in congress would object and call it Clinton revenge, and assuming that the liberal media had our backs? Those kind of assumptions?

I'd propose a better poll, "Assuming that Peter Pan could sweep into Washinton D.C. and successfully feed the president to an alligator, would you support the stockpiling of fairy dust?"

Purty damn hard to separate the politics from impeachement, seems t' me.

Given the political realities I think containment is the best option. The public needs to be way out in front on this topic before it is worth the risk.

25. Indeed I would.
Not for Clinton payback, not for revenge, not because I can`t stomach the man. Bush should be impeached for lying about the war, the torture planes, hiring journalists to spread his propaganda, playing guitar while American citizens were drowning in their attics, ignoring the PFB...bin Laden determined to strike...ignoring the Geneva Conventions, driving this country into enormous debt, a brazillion signing statements, etc., etc., etc.

31. Would you like to see President Bush impeached?
W and his lieutenants should ALL be in jail by now, for criminal negligence (reckless endangerment) resulting in the loss of thousands of human lives and permanent physical and mental injury to thousands more. It would be hard for me to consider any leniency at all for anyone under those circumstances.

34. I said totally not
It would take more than two years to impeach. And he will be out already. But the important thing to remember is, he has his finger on that nuclear button. And we already know he is nuts. How would you treat a mental patient that is institutionalized(Washington) with a bomb in hand. Please think about all that would be lost. Lets just chronicle this failure to the end so as not to repeat.

38. I'd insist on a package deal rather than singling Bush out.
If Bush were removed, we'd have Cheney, who's no better and arguably worse, then we'd have to ensure that Rumsfeld was dumped, plus all his insider staff, then Condiliar and her smarmy bunch in the State Department, and so forth.

I'd kind of enjoy seeing them all loaded onto a huge wooden barge and sent out to a Viking funeral.

... Clinton was impeached... And he remained in office because congress could not garner the votes necessary to remove him from office...

I say impeach the Chimpinator and his entire cabal, and then remove him and them from office as well.
