Iraqi official says this is no time to panic LONDON An Iraqi deputy prime minister says this is not the time for international troops to "cut and run" from Iraq.
Barham Saleh says he's concerned about the increasingly "pessimistic" and "defeatist tone" in the debate in the United States and Europe.
Saleh says Iraqi forces will be in control of seven or eight of Iraq's 18 provinces by the end of the year but U-S-led coalition troops are still needed elsewhere.
In an interview with the B-B-C before a meeting with Britain's prime minister, Saleh said while Iraq's problems must be addressed with the "utmost urgency," the coalition cannot "give in to panic."
