course?

here's text from an email a friend just received.

Dear Friends,

Can you believe the straight-faced LYING??? Talk about morals and values, etc. Bush is now saying, "we've never been 'stay the course'". The link below is to a video that shows this statement in the interview, followed by actual repeated statements by Bush of "We will stay the course" over the months and years. Take a look and pass it around.

http://democrats.com/never-been-stay-the-course

Sunday on ABC, George Bush put the final nail in his Presidential coffin when he told George Stephanopoulos, "we've never been stay the course." Does Bush really think Americans are utterly braindead? And will the Corporate Media let him get away with this? The Silent Patriot has the facts. Make sure all your friends see it, and let's BURY the Republican Party on November 7.

Love,
******

let's not let them gloss over this. Make sure everyone on your list
has this video.

1. I'm cautiously optimistic...
but you can't put anything past Rove. I'm sure there will be some shenanigans going on, let's just hope the margin of victory is too wide for them to outright steal anything.

2. Not MSM
but franken played several quotes of bush back to back saying we will stay the course. Rather funny. And a whole bunch of tony snow saying the same thing.

6. I don't know, but here it is in black and white.
U.S. 'Will Stay the Course' in Iraq, Bush Says

"We're making steady progress," he said. "A free Iraq will mean a peaceful world. And it's very important for us to stay the course, and we will stay the course."

President Outlines Strategy for Victory in Iraq

"Some critics continue to assert that we have no plan in Iraq except to, 'stay the course.' If by 'stay the course,' they mean we will not allow the terrorists to break our will, they are right. If by 'stay the course,' they mean we will not permit al Qaeda to turn Iraq into what Afghanistan was under the Taliban -- a safe haven for terrorism and a launching pad for attacks on America -- they are right, as well. If by 'stay the course' they mean that we're not learning from our experiences, or adjusting our tactics to meet the challenges on the ground, then they're flat wrong."

President Bush's Remarks Upon Arrival in Utah

"Iraq is the central front in this war on terror. If we leave the streets of Baghdad before the job is done, we will have to face the terrorists in our own cities. We will stay the course, we will help this young Iraqi democracy succeed, and victory in Iraq will be a major ideological triumph in the struggle of the 21st century."

That last statement was never said less than sixty days ago.

As Media Matters points out, the "change" in policy is simply a classic Bush switching-of-euphemism. Now "stay the course" is inoperative. "Adapt to win" is the new truth.
