Fox News Warns Viewers Of Upcoming Socialist Revolution
Today on Fox News, Neil Cavuto had a segment asking whether Democrats will “crush the economy” if they win November’s elections. One of the guests, Jonathan Hoenig, said they would, because Democrats’ “overriding philosophy is socialism.”

13. Here's what's funny about this
The Bush administration has increased federal spending levels to unprecedented proportions, normally the hallmark of a left leaning administration. By comparison, Clinton cut spending considerably and left with a substantial surplus in the annual budget.

Its funny what they accuse us of, that they do more of themselves.

24. China won't.
The advantage of trading with countries not so friendly with us is that to call in any debt would mean a less than friendly response.

It's a form of symbiosis. A weird one.

It'd be good to balance the trade deficit, but I don't think such collapse will occur.

39. the answer is in cowism
Communism -- If you have 2 cows, you give them to the government; and the government gives you some milk.

Socialism -- If you have 2 cows, you give one to your neighbor.

Capitalism -- If you have 2 cows, you sell one and buy a bull; you then sell all the excess milk to the government who in turn ships it to fascist governments.

Fascism -- If you have 2 cows, the government shoots you and keeps the cows.

It all depends on what KIND of socialism they agree with.

If it goes to us, the people, THAT's bad.

If it goes to the rich, THAT's good.

You have to understand how these things work.

26. Bush/Cheney = socialism
.... for the rich, of course. As our good friend Robert Kennedy has pointed out, under the Bush/Cheney administration, the government policies regarding who pays for the clean-up of the toxic waste dumps sites created by big business has been pushed onto the tax-payers. In a free market economy, a business "owns" its profits and its loses. But today, industry can weasal out of paying for the environmental damage they have done. It falls upon the tax-payers to foot the bill.

No one could. They don't know what it means, just that it is the Bogeyman in the closet that they are suppose to fear. I'm not promoting socialism nor am I condemning it. I simply ask them what Socialism is. They generally have no idea.

35. Right, because unbridled corporatism is SO benevolent to the middle class.
The "Spend and Spend and Let Someone else Pay for it" Party and the corporations that fund them are top shelf purveyors of fairness. Stay the course. Offshoring jobs is NOT a zero-sum game. Tax breaks for the wealthy will trickle down to everyone. You must simply have FAITH that laissez-faire corporatism will work. TRUST us.

Why does this doughy pig asskisser always phrase things in ridiculous hyperbole? "Will the Earth implode spontaneously if the Dems control congress?" Last I checked, political parties don't really facilitate good or bad in economies, corporations do by their actions. So if the economy is one sided towards the wealthy (as it painfully has been for centuries), would Sherrod Brown be to blame?

Or is Neil Cavuto just a stupid motherfucker who needs a boot in the ass?

41. Actually, this country needs some Socialism
We need a massive investment in rebuilding our infrastructure, and universal health care for all, and encouraging union membership to grow, and a policy to encourage immigrants to become citizens, and a substantial tax increase for the rich, and better education for our children from pre-school to college, and a living wage, and .....

About 120 years ago these ideas were considered dangerous, radical, Socialist. It's a sad commentary on the state of our nation that many republicans still think they are. If that's Socialism - sign me up.

Bring the troops home now.

First of all, socialist governments do not inevitably 'crush the economy'. Indeed, there have been plenty of economically successful socialist governments in various countries.

Secondly, which Democrats have an 'overriding philosophy of socialism'? I would really be interested in knowing!
