Gotcha! ABC's online impeachment poll is a disguised push poll.
It's aimed at steering Americans away from impeachment. They ask:

A Newsweek poll released this weekend finds that 47 percent of Democrats think impeaching President Bush should be a "top priority" while 78 percent of Republicans oppose such a move. Only 28 percent of Americans favor impeachment.

Do you think Congress should launch impeachment proceedings against President Bush?

The key line being, "Only 28 percent of Americans favor impeachment." This is what they want you to believe. This is the whole purpose of the poll. But lookie here:

For the record, here is the question in the Newsweek poll: "As I read you some things the Democrats might do over the next two years if they take control of Congress, please tell me if you think each should be one of their TOP priorities, a lower priority, or should not be done at all."

On "Impeaching George W. Bush," 51 percent of those polled called it a top or lower priority, compared to 44 percent who said it should not be done at all.

Among Democrats, that split was 73-23; among independents, 53-44, and among Republicans, 20-78.

It was the same deal on CBS's 60 Minutes yesterday. They're attempting to take impeachment off the table. They set up Pelosi and are going to do the same to the general population. Fuck 'em.

1. Thing is, George ain't gonna magically improve.
And he isn't going to be nice if we take the House. The more he's thwarted, the nastier he's gonna get. It isn't what he's used to.

of its own; the pressure from the people could get so overwhelming for congress to ignore. Flexibility & adaptability fit in well with our democracy; minds can be changed. Btw, Pelosi has remarked that she wanted subpoena power.

3. Pelosi said that for one reason, and one reason only
If she said impeachment was ON the table, it would get out the GOP vote.

Pelosi wants the power to subpeona, and the power to investigate.

You don't impeach first, and investigate later. That's how the GOP does business.

If investigations reveal impeachable offenses, well, we can cross that bridge when we come to it.

4. What a bunch of Ho's
According to ABC's own freaking poll (current numbers), 59% say that Bush should be impeached right away and another 13% say he should be impeached later. Only 28% of their own poll think that he shouldn't be impeached.

You know, they impeached Clinton 'cause he got a blowjob from Monica Lewinsky. ABC News is clearly giving a blowjob to Bush -- case closed. ITMFA!
