I justed call them - spoke with a receptionist and asked her to get to the producers and stop this discussion about Snuff Porn. I told her that I was not sure that Pat or Joe or Duncan Hunter even knows what it means.

She understood and put me through to leave a message because that is all she can do. I told her my ll year old niece is going to be here any minute and I had to turn off their show due to inappropriate content.

X rated hard core porno that ends with the woman (or women) being murdered. Not faked - but really murdered.

Because the only way it would be considered XXX is if they're actually showing it.

I'm just curious as to why we should be upset that it is being discussed on a news show.

Are they saying we should bein favor of snuff films? That we should make them a mandatory part of elementary education?

I'm unclear why, in this specific instance of a news show, it is an issue to you.

It's called the off switch. If you think children may be upset by something, please use the switch or get them out of the room if you want to watch it.

The world isn't set up so children and adults can go through life unoffended by other people. However, one can manage to avoid offensive material on cable TV by exercising a finger on a button.

Calling the networks and ranting about family values in entertainment is a conservative christian tactic. It's certainly not something I'm going to engage in....

Change the channel if you don't like the content.

The only real snuff movies are the ones we have now - courtesy of Bush's war on terror. I'm not watching the program but I'll betcha a nickle it's full of crap.

it's not on DVD? the movies that hit the theatres last weekend are available on DVD, and none of these are? what, are they on 70 mm? the vast organized crime syndicates can put kiddie porn on DVD and the internet, but snuff films are too difficult?

I was talking aobut people thinking of this stuff as North American film quality, it's not.

Are there people willing to kill for sexual gratification? Of course. Ted Bundy is a prime example. Are there people who wish to preserve sick crimes on film? Of course. Just ask Daniel Pearl's widow.

As for snuff films you claim to have viewed. How do you know they were real? Are you aware people make films that simulate such acts?

Think about it. A (real) snuff film is a document of a crime. If you committed such a crime, would you want that document out there floating around?

I have friends who have dedicated their lives to stopping the international sex trade, they work in the greatest hellholes of the earth with exploited women, children and men. they have seen every sick thing you can imagine, but you know what they have never seen? a snuff film. Oh sure, we've all seen Faces of Death, and we know Charlie Sheen was fooled (along with a lot of people) by the Guinea Pig films, but no one has ever come up with a real, honest to goodness snuff film. don't you find it strange that no one looking for one has ever found one? no one's wife has ever found one in the basement, no one has ever seen one and been so disgusted that he/she turned it in to authorities? no one has ever found one on the internet, or in a police raid? no one? the FBI would love to find one, so would Interpol, and they never have?

Everything changed after 9-11, and outdated paradigms like "proof" and "facts" and "logical conclusions" have gone the way of the Dodo.

You're still thinking in a pre-9-11 way. I'm sure there's something in one of Paul's letters that clearly predicts, and thus proves, the existence of snuff films.

The FCC regulations on "morality in television" are already completely STUPID; the US is the ONLY first world country that bans things like profanity and nudity from broadcast TV during hours when only adults are likely to be watching.THere's nothing especially objectionable in a news show DISCUSSING illicit pornography, particularly if it's something like snuff porn (which, if it's more than an urban myth, is certainly newsworthy).

cause they are wasting time on a stupid issue like snuff films. What is this, a bad Nick Cage movie? do you know how many verified actual snuff films the FBI has ever found? I'll give you a magic number: 0.
