When the going gets tough, the Republicans bring out the mud...
I just returned from a "vacation" to KY and TN and witnessed several of the commercials from the Ford and Corker campaigns. I saw the last one by Corker on one of the Knoxville stations. It was about playgirls and pornography, with bi-racial overtones. The white girl in the ad, who looked more like a prostitute than a "playgirl" gets the last word in the ad. Holding her thumb and little finger up to ear to imitate a telephone, she whispers for Harold to call her...It was sponsored and paid for by the RNC.

Another ad against Ford had several black folks in the commercial suggesting that "he sure looks good on television" and making the point that he has spent more time in "DC than in Tennessee". Another asks if he has ever done anything other than politics....but he "sure looks good on television" they say at the end of the ad.

But Ford has hit back with one ad that attacks Corker for the money he made while Mayor of Chattanooga. It also points out that he was busted with illegal immigrant employees on his jobsite. Ford will need to come up with a new ad soon or he will find himself buried in the mud, in my opinion. Last week at this time, he was 5 to 8 points up in some polls. At the present time, it is a deadheat, with Ford up by maybe a point. Unless he can counter this mudfest by Corker and the Repubs, he will have a difficult time on election day, I would predict.
